The first time I heard or saw Nancy LaMott was the day she died. I'd been watching Charles Grodin's CNBC show and at the end of it he said, "Nancy LaMott died today" and played a tape of her appearance on the show where she sang "Moon River". It was beautiful and crushingly sad.

Words like exquisite and impeccable do not come close to describing Nancys deeply moving singing. Try listening to her interpretation of the theme from the movie, 'Laura' and you, like I, will just melt.

I like Nancy LaMott. I remember that Jonathan Schwartz always played a lot of her songs on the late, great WNEW AM 1130 in the early to mid 1990s. He still closes his radio show (now on an FM station) with a Nancy LaMott song because he promised her that he would. And he does. A nice tribute to a lady who was very special and died too young.

Every Sunday 12-4pm on WNYC (93.9 FM in NYC). Still closes the show with the mesmerizing voice of Nancy LaMott.

My Lord, she looks so healthy here. And a year later she's dead. That's sad.

I really like her - when I first listened to her cd, I had no idea about her passing... It was not until I had been a fan for a while and tried to research - when her next album was coming out and/or if she'd be in LA anytime soon, that I realized she had passed away. So sad and wow, what an amazing talent... WHAT A VOICE!

That was wonderful. Unfortunately, I became a fan way after her death. I wish I would have known about her when I could have seen her live. I'd have been there for every performance. Thank you.

Many (not all) great pianists have enormous hands. Now, this is not a knock, but LOOK AT HER EARS! I really think I'm on to something here. ;-}

You are not. Had you been looking at her eyes, however ...
