Nancy Wilson performs song from Live at McCabes

In 1999 saw this tour in NYC at a tiny club. Just Nancy, a couple of acoustic guitars, and some weird foot stompy thing. One of my most memorable live show experiences in a lifetime of music.

This was from Howard Stern. I was listening to the show, She mentioned she was playing in MA the next night, I checked, got tix to her Boston show, it was fantastic. She is the reason I play after I saw the little-known Heart in the 70's. She was and still is a force!

Aw how cool you got to see that show back then! Live at McCabe's is one of my all-time favorite cds. Yes I had the entire stern show appearance uploaded here a few years ago but it was removed and I got a strike for it, that's why I don't mention where this performance came from 😄 Btw same here, directly inspired by Nancy to pick up guitar at 16 after seeing them on the Dog and Butterfly tour plus having their other 3 albums too of course. She's such an amazing and talented lady, can't say enough good things about Nancy! 💕 ~~Katerina

@@Katerina9256 oops Gotcha re: show source! Yes, feel lucky to see that show, her guitar playing was absolutely stellar. It wasnt crowded, was able to get close! It def was life-changing seeing her back in the day. I was playing aggressively when I was young....girls didn't play like that lol. Seeing her play like she does was a wonder, it was truly a game changer for every woman who followed her!

@@kimrileymusic Absolutely, I've had so many women commenting similar on my various Heart vids. The guys are mostly about wanting to marry her 😁 I don't think it will flag anything mentioning stern in the comments. Right after they filed the copyright thing with youtube and pulled that video, they uploaded their own little Nancy Wilson video from that interview, which was the little medley she did. They never uploaded this one. As far as I'm concerned this song was the one and only bright spot in that whole show. I think that's why dude doesn't want it out there---they really didn't treat her properly and he knows it. She handled it though for the most part but definitely got a little irritated at some points. Surrounded by 5th graders basically 🙄

I’ve been trying to emulate her style using a ukulele with a low G. Good luck to anyone doing that! Like trying to fly an airplane with one wing but I’m determined. Bought her 1999 tutorial DVD recently. She is amazing and I love her as a songwriter too.
