In '79... my girlfriend lived near Ann's house. Was invited to a BBQ on Ann's house on the lake. Sat next to Ann (with a guitar), playin' Beatles songs and Motown. Her voice moved my hair ! Best voice ever. McCartney USED TO have best voice. Not anymore. Ann's best voice... now.

nice experience... but honestly claims of best ever whether it voice or guitar or drums or whatever I find incredibly silly...and none of the artists that people make these emotional claims about would agree. Nobody doubts the mark Heart left/leaves on Music and Rock n Roll history...but making silly claims like best ever is well just plain silly. There are countless brilliant female vocalists in the history of music...what is the point of making a claim like this.

These ladies have been a big part of my life since I first heard Dog and Butterfly when I was 9. What they have done for music and for women is astounding! They don’t often get all the credit they deserve. I have lots of loves when it comes to music....but Heart will forever be my absolute favorite! I saw this interview when it first came out and all these years later as I watched it again...I enjoyed it even more! Thank you for posting this and Ann and Nancy I’m forever grateful for what your music has meant in my life!

I think being in the RRHOF is plenty of credit...I think Anne singing at Le Zeppelin's Kennedy honours is pretty much recognition...I cant stand these comments or underrated or don't get enough recognition. Heart and every band member get all sorts of recognition amongst their peers.

Their music locked me into learning most of their hit songs when we formed a tribute band in their honor we named Heart Brigade. As a bassist, tried my best to learn all the bass lines note for note to make it the way they played them exactly. It was fun doing them in our gigs in Los Angeles at Paladinos. Wish I could meet Ann and Nancy in person someday.

I have been looking for this show for ages, thank you so much for posting it. Love Nancy doodling around on the guitar, especially when she's talking about the influence of Paul Simon's song "Anji" and then goes into the Crazy On You intro and Ann says "No, that's yours". Love listening to them talk about their career.

In the early spring of 1976 Heart opened for War at the WSU Coliseum where I worked on the sound and light crew. A veteran of dozens of concert setups by then, I was standing on the stage before the sound check and mentioned to a friend how sloppy and amateurish the setup was, that some could easily trip over the tangle of cables strewn haphazardly on the floor. A hand tapped me on the shoulder, it was their road manager who asked if I thought I could do better. "Of course," I replied. He then said they were taking off on a national tour and needed a stage manager, and did I want the job. It was my senior year, a few months before graduation, so I declined. But as luck would have it, the next show was Neil Diamond, and by summer, I had a job as a roadie working for the sound company he used - another story. Fast forward 40 years to 2016 and I am in the WSU Coliseum again to see Heart with my son, soon to graduate from WSU. I was as amazed then - maybe more so - than I was in 1976. They were and still are, incredible musicians, and incredible people.

I remember, at a young age... getting my first little record player... those little mini size, and my first record was Dog and Butterfly... I'll never forget my first vocal joining of heart with Heart in that song... they captivated my musical soul then and I still don't think anyone has outdone them in range and ability. Makes me sad they feel so bad about the 80's...I loved their music from then to now. I get the image nonsense they hated and agree, but they were beautiful then and could still rock the best of the bands off the stage. I still feel sad that those big in music are so strange in their belief... music is its own high, it's a prayer and whisper and a silent scream, it's the hurricane force of winds and tornado dreams, it's the soft touch of a first love and quivering lips of the first kiss, it's the raw unhinged naked bliss of love lasting till death, it's full and empty all at once. It's from God above who is all, is in all, through all forever. There's only one God, His instrument is us and His creation. Rockin hard, swingin it out, folkin, jazzin, poppin, balad belting, acapella alleluia - music full of mystery and madness - always reminds us why we're alive, what's good to feel and easy to let go...

2001 saw Abbey Road tour, Brian Wilson tribute, and Ann participating in the Atlanta Music Festival (see YT), then October 2001, Groundworks concert was Heart’s first new millennial reunion show, with an incredible set list (“In Your Eyes”, “The Witch “, “May This Be Love”, “Black Hole Sun”, Angels”, “Fever Dog”), and that amazing set list got refined into the 2002 “Summer Of Love” tour set list. This show was A&E’s “Musicians”, filmed April 2002, NYC, prior to the tour. Ann’s Lap Band, three months new, and her media appearances promoting that was the latest news, besides news of the tour. Most of all, there was this unmistakable energy about 2002. Heart were back. Ann was particularly on fire, vocals and looking physically limber and happy during the summer ‘02 tour. The tour culminated with the “Alive In Seattle” dvd and cd of their Seattle finale ‘02 show. Great memories. Thanks for posting!

The first album I bought, as a kid in the 1970s, was Boston's album, Boston. My second album purchase was Woodstock. My aunts and uncles were more or less hippies, so no surprise. I loved Cat Stevens back then too. All of that led to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. FYI, I'm still a hippie. ❤️❤️
