Howdy Emma and Alex, I have been following your channel since the Philippines series, and now I am here in your beautiful country! Yesterday I went to Lacock and Bath, and a friend suggested I go to Brighton, what a coincidence! I have not tried Nando's yet, but everything I ate in London was nothing but awesome! Cheers!
@TravelBeans5 жыл бұрын
I have actually never heard of Lacock but it looks great. How was it? I am sure you will like it and we are so happy you are here in our country 😀

Nando's! Actually originally invented and franchised in South Africa but Portuguese inspired as both Mozambique and Angola on the South African northern borders have Portuguese heritage and we (SA) have a melting pot of culinary culture... I live in the USA now and boy do I miss good fast food in general but especially Nando's lol. Love your channel and really enjoy both of you x

There are a number of Nando's in the Washington DC area. We go to England often as I'm originally from Derbyshire. I'm the anti-Emma. Born in the UK, moved to the US. I hadn't heard of Nando's but saw a vlog by the Endless Adventure. So last time I was visiting my daughter in the DC area, we had Nando's. It was good chicken and chips!!
@TravelBeans5 жыл бұрын
we had no idea you could get it in the US too!

I thought Nando's was South African, not Portugese. Yup. we tried Nando's chicken when we were in the Vancouver, British Columbia area (Langley City, BC). Nando's has limited locations in North America, but luckily they are in the lower mainland. We both liked the chicken, I had medium he had mild. I loved the Garlic Mashed and Salad. He liked the fries. We do not refer to food as cheekie in the USA. To us, cheeky means a bit of a smart a**.
@TravelBeans5 жыл бұрын
So I didn't know this but it appears to be a South African chain that serves Portuguese-style chicken. Haha yeah I think we can make anything cheeky.

Cheeky Beans. I've tried Nando's when I was in Chicago, a colleague kept raving, loved the extra spicy chicken, hated the corn it was way to soggy, rice meh. Would I search it out again, no. Don't you dare shave your head. Beard, yeah it has to go.

I’m Aussie I’ve had nandos but I don’t get the fascination with it....I find it very expensive I don’t know if it’s just really expensive in Australia compared to overseas or not....maybe it’s just me.

I’m the same Nandos is great but the price in Australia puts you off

The beard has to stay, maybe a trim to tidy it up, and a haircut, having a beard myself for the last forty years, I would hate having to shave again, up to twice a day if I remember correctly, the weekly trim is a lot easier. I used to use a straight razor ( cut throat ) when I used to shave, this would cause problems at Airport Security today. Plus the hassle of soap, brush, bowl/mug, and the strop, extra weight in the baggage allowance which is a lot lower today than years ago.

Hey guys , glad you’re going to Turkey. I live in Houston but I’m originally from Turkey and I speak Turkish. What help can I give you for your journey in Turkey? Where are you going? I can give you advice on where to go if you like
@TravelBeans5 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! We are starting in Antalya and working our way around the coast to Istanbul.. are there any great turkish foods you would recommend? There are so many famous foods to try but we don't know much about the vegetarian options?
@dadisphat64265 жыл бұрын
Travel Beans there are tons of vegetarian options. Actually meat in Turkey is very expensive (relative to vegetables) , especially fresh fish because of overfishing 🙁. I gain weight there drinking Ayran (basically salty Kefir). Lots of mezes. Any restaurant has a cooler that you walk up to with the waiter and point to what you want. You Might find in season Deniz Borulcesi (sea beans). Travel beans eating sea beans 😁. Gozleme is kind of like Turkish quesadillas and is very cheap and delicious. Lahmacun is good and cheap. Turkish Pide is like pizza . You An get it with meat (kiymali-ground meat, sucuklu (spicy Turkish sausage) or vegetable (sebzeli). Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers make excellent Coban (shepherds) salad. Also is Cig Kofte (raw kofte). They don’t make it with raw meat anymore so it’s basically spicy bulgur Wheat kofte and it comes with pomegranate sauce. Now we discuss beer 🍺: Efes is the standard and your typical Euro Lager. I highly recommend you drink Raki (it’s like ouzo or Sambuca). You mix it with ice or ice water and it turns cloudy. The Turks call it Lion’s milk Are you driving or taking buses? You should consider going to Kas, Fethiye Oludeniz , Patara, Dalyan, Bodrum, Kusadasi, Ephesus (Efes) and definitely Cannakkale where the WWI Gallipoli war took place. Every year on April 25 is ANZAC day where the aussies and kiwis attend.

I'm guessing you had to re-edit and re-post this because it was de-monetized because of the song in the car. P.s. I have not had Nandos but I've noticed they just started selling the sauce in our local grocery store ( in Portland Oregon u.s.)

Personally can't see what the fuss over Nandos is, it's just average, far better places to eat In the UK than Nandos, especially the independents ...I'd go for a good independent Indian/Bangladesh/Pakistan curry or Chinese before going for a dry Nandos 🤷
