It's crazy to realize that non comic book readers don't know how big of a leader Scott is. One of the characters mcu has to do justice.. Also, if Beast ever picks up a magazine or newspaper, I want that to be a weird thing. "Hey Hank, whatcha readin?" "Sports Illustrated?" "He's a fake. Get em!" They pull back the magazine, he's got a book.

I think Victoria Pedretti is the ideal Jean Grey. From what I’ve seen in her other work she’d be excellent at really bringing out the tragedy in the character. She’s also mastered the field of seemingly innocent characters hiding something dark and powerful that they can barely control.

I feel like Jean is more of the therapist of the team. Level-headed and calming. Think Counciler Troy or Monica (Friends) or Donald Duck (DT17) or Pike Trickfoot. What makes so many fall for her in universe is her normalcy, her ability to genuinely care and help those around her. She's only really interesting when she's the Phoenix, because, as the 'nice one' she's the last person you'd expect to go murdery. And THAT is why the Phoenix works. It's such a stark (haha Sansa) contrast to who she is that it can't help but be intriguing. But at this point we all already know Phoenix is coming so let's give your idea a try.

Same. I imagine that’s what Marvel is wanting to do as Holland’s Spider-Man was taking inspiration from the Harry Potter template to be a coming-of-age story. In addition, the FC team gets an opportunity to show how they contrast from being teenage superheroes to being adult superheroes in the MCU. MCU is already bringing in Young Avengers characters in the shows and movies. Wouldn’t put it past them to do the same with the OG 5. Especially since young Cyclops was on the Champions with Ms. Marvel, I figure they might do something like that in the future.

The racism/Beast issue is definitely real, but I would say if it works anywhere it’d be in something like the X-Men where racism and profiling and dehumanizing others it the theme anyway. Also, a thing to remember about Beast is that in addition to being super athletic and super smart, he’s also super well-read. So as long Richardson can effectively pull all 3 of those tighter, he gets my vote. Great art. Wish I could draw that well.

This takes me back to the era before we had so many superhero movies when I'd fan cast movies with friends, one thing I always felt was it'd be best to introduce the first team as teens so we have time to watch them grow into the heroes they're established as today in the comics. I would prefer to see the MCU version be a young version, but with Patrick Stewart showing up in Multiverse of Madness I can't even begin to guess what Disney plans to do with the characters.

I was sort of hoping for a clean slate with the X-Men in the MCU, but this revelation definitely has me intrigued to see how Marvel/Disney handle this. I'm thinking Strange 2 will have a plot thread similar to House of M, but really anything could happen. Maybe when Xavier says "We have to tell him the truth," or whatever that line is, that it'll be revealed that the MCU timeline has been manipulated in the past and that why mutants weren't around. Like maybe Kang did something that made the mutants vanish, but that's all just speculation. I seriously am more excited for this that I was for No Way Home simply because of the possibilities it's going to open up.

@@kingmonde Patrick Stewart said he was done after Logan but the big Disney millions brought him back. I'm positive Disney can do that with the entire cast. I'm confident in guessing that the X-Men franchise is at least 2 different timelines, maybe as many as 3 or 4, and I wouldn't be surprised if Disney decided to merge those with the MCU that way they can capitalize on using actors like Jackman, McKellen, and possibly even McAvoy and Fassbender. This would open the door for all the Marvel Legacy films to be considered just other timelines and universes. Kevin Feige worked on not just the original X-Men films, but most early Marvel movies, and this would be his opportunity to merge all of his life's works into one huge homogeneous project, a true Magnum opus.

The funny thing about this for me is that I grew up thinking that beast was black, he reminded me of all the tall, smart black men in my family so I just assumed he was black. Even when I eventually found out he wasn't in my head cannon it's never changed. I know that he's already been in Black Panther but I wish that they would cast Winston Duke as Beast. He has the acting ability and the physicality to embody the conflicting duality of the character.

I would name the first movie The Uncanny X-Men and have a mixture of the original team with the more known characters, BUT do not focus on Wolverine all the time (He is coming back lets accept it) actually develop the rest of the characters so you know they feel like a team

@@kingmonde No Storm should more involved in the BP part of the MCU so she has space to grow as a character. The same with Wolverine in the Cap part and Rogue with the Marvels. The Xmen movie should focus on Cyclops, Jean, Prof X and the school. The other big hitter just float in then go back to their part of the MCU.

@@pinkpink-kb6dl I have mixed feelings about it, a character's race, gender and appearance all is a part of who they are as a character, making those changes makes it so that they are only that character in name and basically makes them a new character without being original. It basically gives us a new character while taking away the opportunity to actually see certain characters in live-action.

@@kalync.8232 this is how I feel, but really as long as they pick actors that are right for the job or if the change makes the character more interesting it’s fine. Like don’t change Wolverine because he’s just iconic and fans have a strong opinion on what that character looks like in their minds. Where as someone like Iceman or beast it’s not really a big deal, even gambit could work well as black, I mean New Orleans is a fairly diverse city.

Funny thing is, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist was for all intents and purposes a superhero show. Zoey developed the power to hear people’s inner truths and hidden feelings as musical numbers, and she put it upon herself to take what she learned from those songs and use the information to help those people. Jane Levy could really work as Jean due to her Zoey experience.

I totally forgot about that random kid Cyclops from Origins! The drawings were great, and thumbs up for not sticking to a single skin-colour team. Some great casting choices here, and I really love the fact you've made sure to focus on the character ages to match with the characters' ages. I think when it comes to how the MCU should treat Wolverine, I'd say...he should be treated like how Jack Sparrow should've been treated: not exactly 100% on board with being on a team at all times and certainly not the main character of the franchise. I'd be interested in seeing him bounce back and forth between being in X-Men movies, teaming up with other heroes, having a movie or show to himself, but not the main focus of tent pole X-Men movies.

The castings in this one we're all great. I feel like there's a lot more room to play around with casting the X-Men than the Fantastic 4. Also the whole time I just couldn't stop staring at the Charl plush in the background.

I agree with the part about having them together for a while offscreen, and came up with a way to establish it a while back. Start the movie with a flashback during Coulson's busy week. Iron Man 2, Thor and Incredible Hulk all happened at the same time. Have SHIELD investigate some sort of disturbance. Possible Scott's vision going haywire. They arrive and meet Xavier and Magneto there. Coulson's group agrees to let them take care of it and say they'll keep in touch. However, SHIELD falls just two years later, so nobody kept in touch with them. So we see a montage throughout the years, recruiting the rest of them, all the way to modern day. Xavier and Magneto have parted ways due to their differing philosophies.

The first movie should absolutely just be the original 5 and Charles. Introduce Storm in a Wakanda story. Introduce Wolverine in an Alpha Flight vs. Hulk story that could possibly include Deadpool. Introduce Rogue in a Captain Marvel story... so on. By the time you have 4 or 5 other mutants introduced in other properties, make the 2nd movie an interpretation of Giant Sized no. 1. Then the 3rd movie is where you introduce Shadowcat, Dazzler, Jubilee, and other 80's Clermont characters.

Huh...from the way you're describing Angel, I think we've seen the best version of him in a non-Xmen property: My Hero Academia in the character of Hawks. Their powers aren't necessarily 1 to 1 but the general idea of a winged dude is there, and the personality is on point.

I really like this video, and I like each of the individual choices made well enough, but I'm left feeling like I'm not sure if these actors will work well together. I've been convinced that individually they all work for their chosen characters, but I'm not sure about how they'd interact (e.g. I can't see the actors chosen for Cyclops and Jean together)
