This is why we can't stand when people generalize them, they have so many different genres to offer, even if you don't like a few songs there is always something for everyone to enjoy
@zebicel97773 жыл бұрын
Exactly there's like 200 plus variety of BTS songs to listen and people still generalise them, they're versatile artists and they're constantly trying to work with new styles, that's what make them true artists, they aren't afraid to explore more and unique concepts , people are generalising them because of dynamite and butter sadly, unfortunately this generalising process is repeating, back when DNA hit those charts and gained more attention people started generalising Bts with Dna forgetting that Bts released songs like BST, Spring day, dope, cyphers, truth untold, i need you, baepsae and many more

If you want a deeper dive after those - wonderful ARMY accounts have created Introduction to BTS where they introduce the members, and their rise to the top. It gives you a great understanding of their individual personalities while also giving you brief snapshots of solo work they work on, let us know if you like a certain vibe, and we can recommend songs for you!! Just one thing, I'd highly recommend watching their live Asian performances, the ones from the States are very dull and poorly produced (except the one where they appeared in New York's Grand Central Terminal). Productions in Asia are huge and so creative, specially those for the Award Shows like MAMA (MNET ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS) and the MMAs (MELON MUSIC AWARDS), which are held in huge venues with a millionaire budget. And FWI, BTS somehow manages to turn these shows into their own concert 🤭. They're on another level. You just haven't seen anything yet. Their most recent songs were written in English mainly with commercial purposes and by the way, they didn't write these songs (except for Butter where RM one of the rappers collaborated). And were made to bring joy and relief to us Armys during these hard times. There's also a Tiny Desk Concert where you can hear them live, chilling, having fun and singing with a live band. Welcome to the BTS Journey 💜💜

3 rappers and 4 vocalists, debuted in 2013, they're not sticking to only one genre (as you probably already noticed comparing Dynamite to Mic Drop lol), each member do some solo stuff as well, where each of their persoanlity and preference of music really shows, they even have soundcloud where from time to time members put mixtapes or solo tracks/covers as a gift for fans for free
@someone-js4ul3 жыл бұрын
The thing with bts is that you can't generalize them. they have alot to offer. There is a reason why they're at the top. its's not only their music that impact people on larger scale but the messages they are trying to convey, their struggles, their individual personalities ,the amount of content they provide for their fans is un comparable, even we armies sometimes can't keep up with all the content. they even have their own app to communicate with Armys. i think you guys at least need a full year to really grasp the idea of what they are and why are they at the top of the music industry. so keep up with the reactions of their music and also the other content like documentaries ( i recommend '' The rise of the bangtan'' ,''the most beautiful moment in life updated version, ''who is bts Army'', ''bts hardships, ''bts from nobodies to legends''), bts's own verity shows (Runbts, bts in the soop, bon voyage) and some other content by armys.

So in the K-pop industry, it's standard procedure for a fledgling group to train anywhere from 1-3 years before debuting. BTS's members were chosen in 2010, and they debuted in 2013. Idol training takes place in and around their school day, as almost all trainees are high-school aged. Dance practices can run from 4-12 hours, depending on the day and the work schedule. BTS had a bit of an edge in some respects: RM and Suga were both well known as part of Korea's rap Underground and had been rapping and writing music since 12 and 13; Suga had also been producing music for several years, and actually intended to apply to the company as a producer. J-Hope was a famous street dancer in his hometown before coming to Seoul, where RM and Suga taught him to rap and he became dance captain for the group. Jimin had earned a scholarship to one of the most prestigious art schools. He was trained in both ballet and contemporary dance, as well as martial arts and swordplay. Jungkook received seven offers from various company scouts after he placed second in a singing contest at the age of 13. He took BigHit's offer because he knew of RM and wanted to work with him. Jin was an acting student who got scouted off the street; V accompanied a friend to audition and was persuaded to try out as well. And a handy tip: don't try to tell them apart by hair color or style, it's a lost cause for any Idol group. :)

I think people can realize how much BTS has to offer only when they actually discover it. Here, I'm sure that after Dynamite which is a very pop song (which is not everyone's style, as I can understand) you weren't expecting to discover this hip-hop song. Actually, BTS was originally supposed to be a hip-hop group but the project changed, so they have solid bases and influences in this genre (RM and SUGA were also from the underground hip-hop for several years prior to BTS), but they also like to renew themselves all the time, you have more jazzy, rock, edm, pop, hip-hop tracks. Considering how you like Mic Drop, that means you prefer that style (I think), so I recommend 'ON Kinetic Manifesto', but also the Cypher series - 4 songs - (there is no mv on the Cypher, only performances), just like the track 'Ugh', you also have 'Ddaeng' and so many other hip-hop tracks. I also recommend 'Black Swan', an even different song than the two before that reflects their versatile style. Also note that the rappers (SUGA, RM and J-Hope) have their own hip-hop mixtapes if you are interested. There you go, I'm sure the recommendations will match that of a lot of people in the comments. 💜

It's funny because my kpop journey started very similar to yours. I discovered Blackpink first and thought they were super talented, and their songs were very catchy. "Dynamite" was also the first BTS song that I saw, and I honestly was not into it and moved on. Cut to about a month later, I fell down the BTS rabbit hole, watched a ton of their music videos (including "Mic Drop" obviously), and have not looked back since. For me (and this is personal opinion), BTS are top-tier, and the best of the best. I still enjoy Blackpink and some other kpop groups, but I'm not invested in those groups the same way. Most BTS fans wouldn't even categorize BTS as "kpop" anymore. They've surpassed categorization because of their vast discography and list of achievements. Please keep watching and reacting to their videos!

As an Army I have to say that for you to be able to understand ANY of BTS's songs and why they sing what they sing, you have to know their background.... EVERY SINGLE BTS song represents their struggles, their lives, and Army..... That is why many people don't understand the lyrics for Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance...... If you truly knew their background and the whys, you wouldn't hear their songs the same way as you are hearing it now...... As an Army I am glad you are giving the boys a chance and understand why we as Army say that BTS is a genre on it's own.... Sigh... It is not a bad one if you want to know a little about them as individuals but... she has a bias in JK and you notice. The other thing is that she is a little naiv: for example Jin learned the hand movements for the part in Epiphany but can't really play the piano, V had the violine for aesthetics only (very likely at least; at the moment he is playing with the trumpet) and what JK actually keeps up with is a mystery (likely has ADHD) and exasperated RM because he doesn't seem to stick with (a lot of) things. Let the guys enjoy a little bit of their music first before pushing them for the other stuff and than maybe: XCeleste with "This is BTS" and "This is Army" (she has other cool stuff) bby gang mag for more context with South Korea, Kpop and BTS. He is funny but also treats his vids like academic papers (or at least the first few). I love those like "BTS vs KPOP". Best but most time consuming (for those who haven't seen this, yet) is "The Rise of Bangtan"-Series. It is frankly brilliant and made up without the creator speaking a word in the vid by official content, documentaries, fancams, idol chanels and youtubers. It can teach so much and not only about BTS.

Army believes this is payback for haters especially for a rapper who made fun of them when they were just starting out in their careers. Many people despise them because they come from a very small agency and are on the verge of going bankrupt. They were insulted because they considered giving up on hip-hop. But they repaid all those who despised them with their success. They do not only work with hip-hop, but they do many genres. They reward their haters with their work. Such as mic drop, chypers, and many more tracks. They also participated in songwriting; unlike most other artists. Especially line rappers who write their lyrics. And the most important thing is they were never arrogant. That's right, I'm not lying. We can see from what they do. They secretly made a big donation and will only be discovered a year or a few months later. That's just one example of their many good deeds.

Love all of them, but as a Hip Hop and R&B fan, I was blown away when first learning about them, and found out that RM, Suga and J-Hope have such authentic Hip Hop backgrounds. RM and Suga were even well known in the Korean underground rap scene. If you want to get a feel for how good they are, look up their "mixtapes": Suga (Agust D, D-2), RM (RM, Mono), J-Hope (Hope World) where they pretty much wrote and produced all their own tracks.

It’s always so funny seeing people go from Dynamite as their first exposure/reaction to Mic Drop😁. You immediately see why they say they are EXTREMELY diverse in their genres and style.

Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance.. and their album BE.. are actually to bring joy and smiles to people during Covid. They have a great bob to them, but as you will find out, their music is not limited to that. They also write their own songs. Welcome to the rabbit hole 😁
