I forgot to mention in the video, fastest run on Sunday was a 39.50. My PB for this layout is 39.43, which I've run twice previously on both Hoosier A7 and Yokohama A050gs. So from a numbers perspective, the CR-S could be faster than those two times in slightly warmer conditions.

Can’t wait for more tyre reviews. If only you started these reviews. from your first set of tyres

how are these tires wearing for you? all i have near me is autocross but i'm still tempted by these as i've heard they wear as well as any other super 200tw while putting down a pace on par with the a052/re71rs. we do sets of 4 runs and we usually have decent length courses (40-50 seconds) so maybe i'd be able to get enough heat in them?
@rhysrhysrhys Жыл бұрын
Wearing very similar to how the RE71RS did, which is much better when comparing to friends with A052 who have done similar number events and road kilometres over the same period. Its probably worth a go, they might fall into the right spot of speed/cost/life that suits you.

@@rhysrhysrhys iirc on the GRM test they wore better than rt660s which would be my other choice, so i'm really leaning towards the CRSs. how much driving on the road do you do with these tires? i'd be worried about heat cycling them out just driving to and from events on them lol

@@veganjoy I drive to and from the track, with the odd run through the hills. Maybe 6000km total each year. You could swap them out when arriving at the track, but if I'm going to do that, I'm just going to run A050s. With the RE71RS, I didn't notice a huge drop in performance throughout the life of the tyre. I'm happy with the performance v convenience of both of these tyres so far.

How are these compared to nitto nt01s?

Do people still use Nitto NT01s? Its been nearly ten years since I've seen one of those in Australia.

How are these in the wet/damp? Currently running ar1 at the moment and looking at a052 but these sound great in the dry but can’t find many wet reviews of them - 52s are very good in the wet from feedback
@rhysrhysrhys10 ай бұрын
We had an EXTREMELY wet hillclimb late last year and they pretty good. Quite predictable. I can't compare them to A052, but I've heard the same comments about them.
@rhysrhysrhys10 ай бұрын
Jesse Street made a comment on his last Insta post about how bad they were in the wet, but he is comparing them to a wet compound tyre, so his view might be skewed.

I'm now on A052s and the A052 is much faster and grippier in the wet than the CRS. Very impressed with the A052 wet and cold performance after a wet hillclimb on the weekend.

How well do you hook from adig? I have a pair 265 20s coming in your opinion at the drags. Do you think the hook good on 700hp Ls
@rhysrhysrhys Жыл бұрын
I drive a car with 130hp, so we're at the opposite ends of power (and vehicle weight!), as well as tyre size. As mentioned in the video, they hook up for hillclimb standing starts better with some initial heat in them. If you can do a burn out to get some heat in before your run, I think you'd be happy with them.

If I was a KZbinr, I would have used a title like 'OMG, DO THESE TYRES SUCK??!" Or something silly like that! haha
