I've had Zhang Ping Shui Xian, and it's absolute banger. Just exploring tea right now and it's another discovery, so oily? rich tasty stuff. I got myself tasting set of various oolong and it's the one I like the best and will be getting more of on the regular.

Perfect. I`ll try comparing these teas when the temperatures get milder over here in Berlin. It`s great to see so much enthusiasm towards tea sourcing/tea trips.^^

www.curioustea.com/tea/oolong-tea/gaba-oolong-cake/ -there is another pressed oolong. Also i've drank once some hong shui from nantou and it was for sure pressed in cakes bigger than 100g

I have tried both and think zhangping shui xian is less floral, the aroma is lighter but more natural. In Asian way, the lighter aroma does not mean lower quality, in opposite, the lighter but more natural is more difficult to make. So I think, the more accurate comparison here is Zhangping Shui Xian has a lighter aroma but more natural and it lasts longer.

We definitely agree with you, thank you for sharing! Zhang Ping Shui Xian tastes more natural indeed and is smoother to the palate.

Xuan Do Le Same here,I much prefer the delicate complexity of zhangping. I always get light cinnamon notes besides the floral honey sweetness ,and the aftertaste is quite impressive to me.In general I've made better experiences with 'niche teas'.Cheers

@@@theoldkid5725 , good to know, I am not alone! Interesting you mention cinnamon, it came out also during today's workshop when drinking other teas.

nannuoshan Hi Gabriele,I'm Gerd from good old Berlin&you are definitely not alone!I am no 'tea expert' by any means,have just one tie guan yin to compare,but to me it is like a bodybuilder on steroids compared to the zhang pin for fans & the charcoal baked from helloteatime. Just ordered more of the baked today,as it's the first one I didn't find the roast too overwhelming,like with the da hong paos I've tasted.Btw.they sent a sample of ai jiao,great!!!,unfortunately beyond my budget...anyways,I prefer my xinyang maojian over all that overprized anji bai or fake dragon well. Stay safe,enjoy a good cup of true tea🙋

@@@theoldkid5725, thank you for writing your name! I actually like when I can put a real name to the nickname. Going for less known tea is always a good way of making deal and avoid fakes.

I believe dong fan meiren sometimes is pressed into cakes.
@nannuoshan4 жыл бұрын
Really? That would be interesting to see and try. We've never seen pressed Dongfang Meiren. I asked around after having received your message, but none of our tea contacts have ever heard of them. However, Dong Fang Mei Ren is also produced in Yunnan now... so maybe they press it.
