I just about to learn making my very first terrarium and have been having this kind of idea of a water feature in it for several weeks without even being aware that it is called paludarrum, and today I accidentally came across your video! I'm so excited to start on my lil project now that I can learn directly here 😍😍😍
I love this one... I can't wait to try it. Thank you for putting all the information underneath the "more" section, this was totally helpful... Ur a Dream 💝.

Awesome video! I have never made a paludarium but I want to. I was just wondering if I could make one and leave the lid off to help prevent mold. Or do I need to leave the lid on for it to work?

I have stumbled upon this video and I'm blown away. I have kept aquariums before but now I live in a tiny apartment with cats that like to hunt a lot! This video is giving me some ideas that are perfect to scratch that itch. Do I have to water it or is it self sustained? I am to build a small squared version (10x10x15cm) do I have to have a lid? Thx in advance
@TerrariumDesigns Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes a lid is recommended to trap the humidity for the moss & plants. It will need very infrequent watering & I do water changes every week or so, but other then that it’s relatively maintenance free. You should definitely have a gig at making one!😃

Does the water get dirty after a week? Because I saw on another comment that you change it once a week? Or do the springtails take care of that too?

I have tried making terrariums and paludariums like theese but the majority of the plants would die off because of overwatering. How do I know when the tank has enough water?
@TerrariumDesigns Жыл бұрын
The key is to keep the substrate damp but not wet. Using something like a fine mist spray bottle really helps

Hello, got a question. I have many house plant and working on a terrarium, it has a opening that can't be close. will the springtail's hurt my other plants?
@TerrariumDesigns Жыл бұрын
No springtails won’t hurt the plants at all:) you can always cover the opening with something like a clear acrylic disc or Saran wrap if you’re still worried

im making this in a slightly larger scale replica should i add taddpoles or small fish?
@anabanananaa Жыл бұрын
If it’s a bit bigger than this I think you can add tiny aquatic snails to clean up algae, but if it’s way bigger than you might be able to add shrimp and other small fish

I have a question I have a large jar and I am trying to make my first paludarium but the jar opening is a little tight but enough to fit stuff in and my hand but I am missing super for large rocks I have and what i want to ask is it ok to use large rocks and for the wall and is it fine if the water are is a little small
@elijahching Жыл бұрын
This is all of your preference - that's the beauty of it! If the jar opening is too small, try to use tweezers, he has a great toolset for like $10 in the description. As long as your water isn't touching the soil you're fine!

Well at least if it's a closed terrarium (with a lid) because It will just have its own atmosphere which is pretty cool because u don't have to water it at all
