I use the Nanolex and i'm very happy with it, he's very economical and the wet effect last long on the paint for a long working time but it do not foam a lot

What dilution are you using it at? I've got another video trying it at 1:10 where it performs better, but it's not great when compared to whatever else I'm testing it against. I would suggest you try some other products because I think you'll get a better performance.

Absolutely agree with you there. I get a bit jaded of all the very positive reviews of products - I was given this for free btw, so there's not even that factoring into it (I like to think it never does in my reviews, but subconsciously it may do sometimes).

A timely video, doing my first wash after the month of monsoon we've had. Got some GT foam for xmas, hoping it's as good as my previous favs of Squid ink Alkafroth and Bh touchless.
@SuperchargedLlama

It certainly will be, at 3% PIR it's as good as Touch-Less at 5%. I've not used Alkafroth but people who have, and have used GT and BH all mention it in the same breath.

To be fair, the nanolex was sprayed on the dirtiest part of the side of the car. Shame you didn't do the other side with the nanolex at the back. Must try that GT foam but isn't it much more expensive than BH?.
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama 7 ай бұрын
You're absolutely right, the lower part, right behind the wheel, is a lot dirtier than the rest, but the upper part isn't significantly worse. If it had even gotten marginally close then I'd have given it some wriggle room, but it didn't. I'm going to try a few other products out next time, I'll do the Nanolex again but at the back instead for the sake of fairness. With regards to the GT, it's more expensive than AutoFoam, but it's much nicer in terms of foam, and free'er rinsing, so that's worth it for me. Compared to Touch-Less I seem to remember it being about the same cost per wash, because Touch-Less maxed at 5% PIR and GT is at 3%, but cleans better. Got can also buy 1L of GT so it's a nice size to be able to try.

Excellent video. Always like a side-by-side comparison. I would like to have seen you use GT V2 (because it won) over the whole side of the car and then seen the results. Kind of like when you did the tyre cleaning test and used the Retyre on the tyre which had already been cleaned with VB. And it would possibly have shown if x2 rounds of prewash is the way to go (even with GT) Cheers snd happy new year!

Funnily enough that's pretty much what I did afterwards, I put every left over in the pump foamer and did the whole car, not quite the same thing, I like your idea. I'm actually going to do a video where I try and do a quick contactless wash with Koch Vb, and I'm going to do two hits to see if that impacts the results.

@@SuperchargedLlama I did a quick BH Autofoam and rinsed off with Spotless water 2 weeks ago (so I could let it air dry and go back to bed). It felt strange to basically miss the contact washing, drying and qd'ing, and not do wheels and tyres. Desperate times called for desperate measures 🤣 I was on nights over Xmas so was awake for like 2 hours, and I'll be damned if the car wasn't going to get some kind of clean!!!!! As a one-off, yes. Hmmm interesting. Was the cleaning power any good at least? Because auto Foam isn't very foamy, but it cleans like very few other products....and I just realised I didn't try this in a foam lance, but it won't be any good. Much like the GSF actually, as we were discussing the other day.

I love to see a proper, well documented test, anyway about your video 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Kidding obv Adrian 😅 fantastic video , quick, to the point and surprising results I thought Nanolex would have been good as a few years ago their pre wash citrus was pretty decent, how things have changed. I’m glad you tried ONR cause I’ve not seen anyone else try it out as a prewash , I tried it after seeing a promo video from Yvan saying it is amazing as a prewash and I got the same results as you 😤

Excellent feedback, thank you! I'd used ONR as a pre-wash in the summer and it seemed really similar to the GT ( V1 I think it was) so I was really surprised here. Not long bought 5L of GT Snow V2 for £35 which I use at 1/9 - produces great results and it's easily as good as BH AF and also works out at better value than it in 5L form. Thanks for the video! 🙏🏾
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama 7 ай бұрын
I agree with you 💯 - 1/9 is 1% PIR in my Ava P57 set-up, it's definitely effective! The nice thing is that if you ever want a bit more oomph, you could just as more. I never used to need that on my own car because I cleaned it so frequently. But these days....
@BrianW1612
@BrianW1612 7 ай бұрын
I've tested them side by side on several occasions at the same dilution & varied concentrations. AF is slightly more effective. Watering down the GT to 1% PIR would only make this gap even bigger so in my opinion, talking nonsense.
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama 7 ай бұрын
@@BrianW1612 I've not experienced that personally. What I have noticed is that, at all dilutions, it depends what sort of dirt is on the car as to which is more effective. Sometimes it's GT, some time's it's AutoFoam, but it's always pretty marginal.
@BrianW1612
@BrianW1612 7 ай бұрын
@@SuperchargedLlama like you I've tested on various cars, various levels of protection. Results were consistent in that at the same PIR they are close, AF just edges it but that gap does open more on lesser protected cars. Saying GT at 1:9 is effective is just nonsense & misleading to others. It will be fine for the summer months but this time of the year it's no where near strong enough regardless of protection in my opinion. That statement isn't specific to GT either, AF is the same at such a low PIR. Depending on protection & length of time between washes, both need to be used at minimum 2% PIR this time of year to obtain acceptable results for a safe contact wash. Even then 2% is pushing it & personally I'd never drop below 3% if you are leaving the car longer than 1 week between washes in the winter, just my opinion but I have posted plenty on DC to back this up.
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama 7 ай бұрын
@@BrianW1612 ah I see what you mean. For me 1:90 is almost 1% PIR for my Ava P57 with the premium foam cannon. But that wouldn't be remotely the same with my Nilfisk C135i and MTM foam cannon. So it is effective, but obviously not as effective as 3%. I clear about 9.5L to empty the 1L foam bottle on the P57. But yeah, protection plays a big part in it. As does wash intervals etc..id you're washing weekly then 1% is effective. If it's every month, at this time of year, it won't do much (as you say). By effective I guess I mean it does remove some of the dirt. I'd hazard a guess that it's still more effective than this Nanolex.

Great job as always 😜 Nanolex looked pretty poor at that dilution I know you have to go by the instructions but at 1:10 or something it’d probably be decent, well something near Forst and much cheaper than RTU. Interesting that you seem to find GT snowfoam V2 more effective at 3% than GT citrus in a stronger mix, I’m yet to use them on a side by side test but thought they were similar power wise just the foam more foamy.
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama 7 ай бұрын
Ha! BIG LOVE! I was thinking I should try it stronger, and perhaps I shall. There's a real kick in the teeth here though, £51 for 5L of Nanolex, £35 for 5L of GT, and even then, the GT is one of the priciest options on the market...but it's good so...hmmmm, let it off I guess? I enjoy using it more than Auto-Foam and at 3% it's as effective as Touch-less at 5%, and costs about the same.

Cheers darling. I'd say this and Touch-Less are broadly comparable on price per wash and cleaning performance (at 5% PIR for Touch-Less Vs 3% for GT, that's how GT actually cost marginally less, because you use significantly less product).

Thanks for the video. I alternate between Auto Foam and Touchless in a pump sprayer, at 2-4% both work out dirt cheap. Don't bother with a foam gun any more, too much product and hassle, plus neighbour's always want to know what I'm doing - rather have a peaceful wash experience :) 80ml to 160 ml of product with 4L of water, peanuts 💸 I was using Surfex and still have it, but found it does something to the wiper blades, window rubber and scuttle areas, so stopped using it. They took on a hazy appearance and wipers would judder excessively. For tyres and wheels it is good though. Not tried anything else but often hear in the forums that VB is one of the best if not the best pre-wash taking into account cost.

That's a fantastic bit of insight right there, especially with the Surfex as well! I've got tonnes of Vb so it's something I'm going to do a bit more with, especially comparing different strengths and seeing how that impacts the cleaning ability. I'll try pump sprayer a Vs the foam lance too, although maybe not all in the same video. I was using a sprayer last winter and I am with you, it works really well. Not viable in the summer, but it's great when it's cool enough that it won't dry out.
