Thank you darling, that's great to hear! The forced rotation is a fantastic bit of kit and I recommend it to anyone looking for the next step. As I said, it will take a bit of time to master, and the pad combos are different (less aggressive), but once you get it, WOW,.

Thanks so much for doing this excellent video 👍👍👏👏. I can now with a better understanding of them all now start saving to upgrade my das6 pro V1. I've already got the in2detailing nano polisher and for me and my circumstances works very well. I do want a dedicated 3" polisher but after hearing your thoughts I'll buy the DA8 and keep the 3" pad on it but also buy the forced rotation and keep that with the 5" pad just like you've suggested. If money was no object I'd like the Flex ones purely for the cordless feature, but as I'm nearly always infront of my garage the corded ones don't really hinder me either. I might get a scrap panel just to practice on using the forced rotation and to get more experience and a feel for how it works and reacts. Again many thanks Adrian for taking the time

I'm a big fan of Milwaukee tools and snapped up their DA polisher for a reasonable price. Even though I'm using older generation 4.0 M18 batteries, it works great. I also have the Carbon Collective mini polisher. Cordless for the win!
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama 8 ай бұрын
This is a really good point to make - cordless is helpful in the sense of not having cables to faff with, but I've found the power drop off is annoyingly detrimental, and the equipment can be really expensive. But the flip side is you get so much flexibility when moving the polisher, and you don't have to worry about the flex rubbing on the paint anywhere. There's definitely merits to it, but you do pay for it. I quite like that you get about 30-40 mins of run time because that sort of forces you to take a breather.

I’ve been using a Vertool FD polisher and the In2detailing 3” polisher for a few years. I’ve just gone cordless with the Flex FD and the Shinemate EB210. Will be trying them out on my next detail. My opinion is you can’t beat a FD machine. EB 210 you get a good kit for the money.
@SuperchargedLlama

That EB210 does look really good, I just haven't had a go with it so I've not been able to say it's worth it.... however, that didn't stop me with the 3" one did it, I was remiss to mention that. The different heads to change the modes look really well made, the review Apex Detailing did on it looks promising....I wonder if Shinemate could be persuaded to lend me a demo unit....

Hello! Haven't caught one of your videos in a while, this is a good one and very relevant for me! I've been wanting to get into machine polishing since the lockdowns but havent managed it, this year I'll hopefully eventually have a go at starting out. So, the DA8 / DAS6 Pro V2 sounds like a great starting point (if they are indeed the same, I havent seen that on my searches yet but did notice they looked the same). How did you start learning how to machine polish? Are there training courses you can go on, as a complete beginner, or are there pros that teach people? That is my first step. Have you got a video on the accessories you'd want with these machines, e.g. pads and polishes? Thanks! P.s. not sure if its on my end, but your voice is only coming out of one headphone side!
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama 6 ай бұрын
Good to hear from you dude! I started learning by just trying it out on my own car, starting off with light polishing pads and finishing polishes so I couldn't do much damage, and then went from there. There are courses and I would like to do one myself actually, just to keep learning, you know? I'm not competent with a rotary and would like to be. It depends where you live in the country as to which will be closest to you, but UK Detailing Academy is reportedly very good. I can certainly give you some recommendations on pads and polishes, it's not a video I've made because there's no right or wrong, there's such a broad range of products that you'll always get someone kicking off. However, with that said, there definitely are some that everyone agrees with that are good. I really like Rupes Yellow Foam da pads, but I've been recommended the Zvizzer Thermo ones by many people, so I'd go down that route too I reckon. And whilst chemical guys get a lot of stick from a lot of people, their pads are good. As are Lake Country. See? Minefield 😅 but I can definitely recommend the Rupes pads and Koch Chemie polishes (F6 and M3 is the medium and finishing polishes, F6 stands for Fine, M3 is Microfine...so that's a finishing polish).

Also, I forgot to say that you're not wrong about the audio. New wireless mic and I hadn't quite got on top of it, recording in the stereo setting basically just means you can use two mics, not that it records in stereo. Didn't realise that.

@@SuperchargedLlama I see what you mean, there could be endless combinations of pads and polish that could give comparably great results. At least for the polisher part its simple, choose whichever is cheaper between the DA8 and Das6, or if you like blue or red better haha. Polishes confuse me a bit, I need to understand the Koch lineup better as I seem to remember there being 01 and 02 mixed in there somewhere too. Where do 'all in one' polishes fit into the general polish category and what is their purpose? There is this Scholl one that I keep hearing about. Is the general rule that two dedicated polishes will always outperform these 'all in one' jobbies? In what scenario would that come into its own, if you have experience with them? For a complete beginner, is buying an all in one vs separate grades a reasonable thing to do (for simplicity and cost)?

Love this, Adrian, something a little different and very very helpful. I currently only have the DAS6 Pro..... not sure it's V1 or 2 and the stalling drive me mad, on my vertical panels which have lots of curves and edges. So, how much use do i get, not a lot really, maybe 3 or 4 cars per year, mine maybe 2 times, should i therefor be thinking of an upgrade 🤔. I was thinking of the forced rotation and a nano..... now im thinking, keep the DAS6 Pro, use it on all the flat horizontal and vertical panels, then grab the Flex for use as a nano and 3". The cost of buying a forced rotation and the nano is relatively similar and the flex has some good features, such as quick release..... so many thoughts and decisions. That was just the content I needed, thank you. All the best. Lee.
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama 8 ай бұрын
Thanks Lee! I would say, if you've got the money for it, the Flex could well be a winner. Shinemate also have an option too, which looks properly sorted. I found with the original Das-6 Pro (which is what you'll have, the new one hasn't been out long, and it's the one I had to start with too) that I needed to swap to the 3" pad a lot to avoid the stalling, but then it took so long to do a car. The Forced one has definitely resolved that for me. Ultimately you pays your monies and makes your choices, don't you. It's all about what you can afford for sure, that's got to be the single biggest factor.

You're very welcome! I've used Rupes Yellow Foam and Scholl Concepts S20 Black for one stepping for a long time, but everyone I've spoken to who's used Zvizzer has me convinced to get some of their pads and polishes next time. If it's your first time polishing then I'd suggest medium pads and a fine and medium polish. The medium will have much more cut, but the fine will be the safest to use whilst you get a feeling for it, and in some cases it's all you need. What make is the car youllibe doing?
