@Project for Awesome is an annual fundraiser run by the @vlogbrothers where people make videos supporting organizations they love and vote on their favorite videos. The organizations with the most votes get a significant grant to help them continue their programs!

At the end of 2018 I had a medical crisis. I spent months in recovery and rehabilitation. Financially everything crashed. My dog was my only constant companion. One day I was feeling very sorry for myself. I wrote two paragraphs about a woman who was murdered when she went to check on a disturbance at a neighbor's apt. The only witness was her dog. I needed some way of taking control of my life, so I took those two paragraphs and tried NaNoWriMo 2019. It turned into a completely different story and is now the first book of my Neil Ames PI trilogy. I had a second health crisis this November, but I'm editing my second book and plotting the third which I will write for NaNoWriMo 2022. I plan to publish the first book September, 2022. NaNoWriMo helped me get my life back.
