Something fun that you can do in Bonelab and Boneworks is what I call a super jump. You use the jump button and jump irl at the same time and you can basically double the height of your jumps. So this poor guy is like having so much trouble. But, as I'm watching... He is, intentionally or unintentionally, creating the jank in regards to himself. The vent cover, he planted himself in the way and held on, making sure the vent cover would get stuck. Not only that but he aimed for under his other arm, an additional collider. In real life you'd get out of the way of the thing you are trying to move, not clamp on and ensure it gets stuck on yourself. Headcrab is fair, depending on the angle you are in the room, he will know you are there but not jump because his view of you is obstructed. For anyone getting stuck on ladders there's a few ways to effortlessly traverse them. Lean forward at the top and grab onto the ground then use the right stick up to lift your legs. A second way is to grab the T shape at the top and then lift yourself to the side around the bars (If your avatar is fat you can't fit between the bars). There's a few more methods too.

You having the music be so quite legitimately upsets me. This game's soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal
@selectionn2 жыл бұрын
Really? For me it was a constant annoyance, on default settings the music overshadows all sound and the music itself was not my cup of tea either; weird indie pop music? No thanks.
@owlcacone2 жыл бұрын
@@selectionn If you actually listened to the soundtrack, you'd know that it is nowhere close to being just indie pop. It's a great mix of synthwave, eurobeat, classic jazz tunes remixed, atmospheric ambience and the aforementioned pop tracks with absolutely stellar vocal performances. I will agree with you on that it was a tad bit too loud at the default volume settings the game starts you out with, but I never went as far as to make the music near silent. The game feels dead and lifeless without the music, especially in a level like Street Puncher or the tac trials and arenas

gonna be honest, this could have been like a $20 dlc for boneworks. it's the same exact game, but with official mod support and the avatar changing. not to mention boneworks is $30 and has a much longer campaign, and it's a proper campaign, albeit boneworks is even buggier cause they never cared to fix the problems. (took them over 2 months to add a checkpoint system, knowing full well they have levels that are over an hour long, and dying means going all the way back to the start of said level). i understand that brandon and his team are pretty small (about 20-25 people right now, they were only about 5-10 during boneworks), but i don't think there's any excuse for releasing a $40 dlc and calling it a full game
@thomoski2 жыл бұрын
First of all - I dont disagree with you on the pricing, but, I don't think its fair to call it just a DLC - from what I understand, the technical side of this vs boneworks is quite different, due to the differences between index and Quest. They took a lot of the features and mechanics that worked on the index - an expensive, higher end VR system, and brought it to the quest, a cheaper, more middle of the road option for consumers. I think that its hard to judge things like boneworks and pavlov against AAA PC games, because the technology is still very much experimental and under constant development. I agree that the price for the content available in the game might seem squiffy compared to most, but unfortunately I think its the cost of buying into what is still a developing market and medium
@mlgrocket2 жыл бұрын
@@thomoski well, i'm not talking how well it plays on either headset, i'm talking about the raw gameplay/overall content. the actual game itself could have just been a dlc, but if you want to talk about performance on the quest, optimization updates on boneworks would fix that.
@selectionn2 жыл бұрын
@@thomoski Boneworks is playable and looks great on a quest, If you mean playing it on a quest natively (ie. no streaming from your PC to Quest2), then ok. But at the end of the day your average joe who gets home from work to play videogames doesnt care about the game being a background technical/engine upgrade, it just costs more for no reason. It pretty much is a DLC. It feels not even slightly different from boneworks. Its just a new 3 hour (yikes) ""story"" for 40 dollars (yikes 2x).
