Favorite thing to do: you can become a human flesh mercant, set sail with a full crew and little food. Wait until the starvation event comes up, choose the cannibal option that gives you 3 extra food, then go back to rown and sell the food. It serves no purpose and you can't really make profit, but it's hilarious

We have only had one more King George since then, who was the father of our current Queen. However third in line to the throne at the moment is Prince George who will be King George the VI.

Don't Sink might be a sun little pirate game to check out. 2D side scroller where you can build/attack ports, travel around, fight other ships at sea and encounter various random little quests and other events. Just don't try to board enemy ships or let them board you, jackscepticeye got into an endless bug in that minigame. I just know you love indie games and pirate games so figured it was right up your alley. Still early access so not a lot of content yet but easily enough for a first impressions or the like. Have fun~

My first playthrough i got 3 years in and died from my ship consistently taking damage. The playthrough i am in now, doing really good, many stacked bodies of whales. Its a addicting game, once you get rolling and upgrade to a new faster ship. Splat do another video, i want to see how you fare. With love.

*Not salty enough* - the forecastle is pronounced "folks - ull" (emphasis on the first syllable; the second syllable is really just pronouncing the double "LL"s ). It's like the gunwale of a boat is pronounce "gun - ll" The "folks-ll" is where the anchor is handled and is actually only called a "folks-ll" if it's below/under the main deck. On the boat you have in this video it would be called the "fore-peak" or " the pointy end of the boat" by new swabbies. I AM a professional sailor, a 100 ton master (licensed captain), and former Navy. The management portion of this game looks intriguing, but it's a shame you don't actually sail the vessel. This is how sims were played on Commodore 64 because the computers couldn't handle the graphics animations. I'm not sure why someone would put out a game like this for today's PCs.

So in the Europa Universalis series if you play as a European nation one of your goals is to colonize, rape, & pillage the new world. Are developers not allowed to make historical games where humans engaged in deplorable behavior? Not to mention in the 19th century ecology was a nascent science & humans as a whole legitimately did not possess the knowledge or foresight with regards to sustainable harvesting of sea life. For better or worse whaling drove a lot of the progress/industry of the 19th century & in game-form as least people can learn a little about this historically significant industry. And also - it's just a game!
