The commercial industry needs to be reigned in a bit more in my opinion. I watch every year as sustenance anglers are hauled into courts and blamed & punished for damaging fisheries, yet local, state, and fed govs allow the commercial fishing industry to destroy fisheries. The Helen H is great boat!

Them Nantucket fluke are delicious, definitely noticed a difference in taste between them and south jersey fluke. I'm guessing they have an abundance of more bait up there. We were bringing up squid mackerel and all it was epic. we had a banner day on the Capt special LTD in 2021. Me and my friend fished the pulpit and absolutely mugged them. My friend won the pool with a 11 lber. $475 bucks... We gave away our limit 3 times over and went home with ours. The first day was haddock and cod and we absolutely crushed them too. We stayed out overnight at sea though and anchored up. I loved it. I was on this year's special again July 19 2022' but it was cancelled due to weather. ☹️ Lol. Great video Capt! I agree the Helen H is the best and Joe is awesome. The crew is awesome too. I love that boat. The fluke fishing is just on a whole different level! You are right! I had the best trip of my life July 20th 2021 on the trip I mentioned above. Simply amazing man

The things I should’ve done when my body felt younger, looks like a lot of fun with friends. Thanks for sharing that one Capt.👍

Multi day fluke trips on the Helen H are great. You should also try a fluke/cod combo trip. Fluke one day and cod the other.

Great video, love the intro sounds again . You guys did well I am sure not an easy trip on the body. As far as releasing the doubles I believe you should for all the same reasons you guys probably do . It's still old school thinking up there . You should do what makes you happy . As far as the dragging goes something should be done with that but until then it's a personal choice I feel .

Looks like a great trip! I might try the Helen H next year. I hear this year was kind of rough up there, RI and NJ this year. The dragger discussion is one that keeps popping up. Honestly I'm not sure if we'll ever get an accurate depiction of of how the recreational fleet vs the commercial fleet does more damage to the fishery but I am good with sending a double digit back. Great video as per usual!

Looks like a great time great vid. As far as the DD topic it’s a tough call. That capt isn’t wrong chances are that fish is gonna die sooner or later. Me personally I’m still looking for my first DD here in Nj which isn’t easy lol. Lots of respect tho to the people that do release the big fish. Me when I’m lucky enough to get one it’s getting eaten and mounted. People that are lucky enough to fish areas that typically hold bigger fish I understand and respect why they throw them back. I forget where I heard this but a solid point was made for blackfish which could apply to fluke your not gonna have DD if you keep all the 7,8,9 lb fish so where does it really stop. Personally even tho those commercial guys need to make a living too tighten their regs up a bit more and watch how many more fish and bigger ones are around. Great vid tight lines 🤙🎣

not releasing a big fluke because sumone thinks a dragger or another angler is gonna catch it and kill it is the dumbest mentality ever..i laugh everytime i hear sumone say that..in hunting too,,if i dont kill that buck sumone else will..enjoyed the video and yes that place is for any serious fluke fisherman to go at least once in there lifetime to experience it and ive seen the same thing everytime ive gone with guys dropping 14 oz or more and were holding with 4-5 oz bucktails with light terminal tackle..

Agree with your philosophy on releasing big fish. Taking all of the big fish out of the population is a recipe for disaster.

He says keep the big ones but u fish on any 6-pack up there and they all promote releasing any fish over 10#. I've fished up there for 15 years and he has never once had a net on the boat. Gaff everything. That's why there are no releases on that boat.
