Thank you once again for sharing the journey. I’m always impressed with the calmness of going through the locks. I think that would be my number one stress area. As a single cruiser, it seems you have mastered the locks going down. You’re not on your own, I liked your insight, on that, with friends helping, the boat ,and the dogs, and for what it’s worth, us internet, Vlog gongoozalers ( if that’s a thing , and wow how do you spell that), are intently following your journey with you as you share with us. . In many many ways I find it’s inspiring. Keep journeying on.

A good workout with all those locks, as old as we get we are still learning, a nice part of the world down there, I was in Whitchurch at the model shop buying bits for a new model and enjoyed a country lane follow my nose drive, I set off on a route I used to cycle home by but missed a turn and after what seemed an age ended up back in Whitchurch!, no such problems on the cut though, another skill conquered there, enjoy each day of your adventure, woof, woof to the boys.

Always be proud of who you are - especially when you are a good guy. I’ve heard some open a paddle to basically divert the pound overflow water through the lock so it stops the bywash .... something to experiment with when the canal is quiet. Of course the bywashes are dependant on no one emptying the lock above that puts that much more water via the bywash..... all good boating stuff.
