Lovely vlog thank you, a bit of info regarding deep lock cottage, it was on the market recently it’s absolutely gorgeous, completely off grid (so not connected to mains water, generates own electricity) and only access is via canal, it actually came with its own tiny narrow boat that you can see in vlog, previous owners used it to get along canal to their car that was parked about 1/2 a mile away 💖💖💖 How very weird about the pig place not allowing children, really odd 😳 anyway I hope you found something else to do with the children 😊😊😊 happy travels ☀️🌱☀️

Hi Gary I don't know if you watch the news.. If not if you are anywhere near Walsall on the canals leave as quickly as you can.. It was announced that they have found patacian cyanide .in the canal water and other toxic substances.. The biggest issue is that when patacian cyanide and water mix. It gives of cyanide gas.????? Perhaps you should check this out for yourself..if you have the means to do this however I'm sure that the c r t. Are aware of this issue... Anyway I thought that I would make you aware of this..... how it got into the canals water systems I don't know.???? What I do know is that a huge amount of fish and wildlife is going to suffer from it..who ever leaked this into the canal system should be locked up and the keys thrown away.??? I shall make a comment about your latest video when I know that you are all safe .

We’ve a hire boat booked for next month at Napton and planning to go to Oxford. Can’t wait! Obviously I’ve been watching various South Oxford canal videos and I’ve noticed a distinct lack of ducks, swans and geese compared to other canals. Am I imagining this? I want to see the duckies dammit lol.

Gary If they are heavy lock gates, why not operate them yourself and let Nikki steer the boat? It would have been interesting to see you go through the new hydraulic lift bridges between Dukes Cut and Kidlington and offered an opinion. Also, unless you have not shown it yet, you did not go up to the Round House at Inglesham which is the limit of navigation for powered craft. It is the start of the Thames & Severn Canal which, when fully restored, will allow you to go to Saul Junction on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal. A missed opportunity. Jeff

The South Oxford Canal will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first canal we ever went on back in 1978, a hire boat from Calcutt Boats, the canal was really shallow then, nearly always having to use the plank, piling was being put in and the dredging put onto the banks the other side of the piling to protect the bank from future erosion. Using pins was the only method of mooring. Such good memories.

landed nicely , bit quieter I should think , but will it be a problem to walk the dogs with all those cows around. happy days 😧🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶

Hi folks I'm so glad to see that you are all safe and well. All I can say is that yet again you have produced another stunning video.of your lives on the canals... I have just returned from a visit to old friends who are still living on Thier narrow boats many of which I grew up alongside many years ago.. A conversation about you and your family members started all I can say is that you and your family have made quite an impression on them.there iwas nothing but phrases for you and your family members. Take it from me they don't give that lightly as for young Noah and his sister they all made a comment about how respectful they are and how well mannered they both are this speaks volumes about you and your better half ha. Ha I had to get that one in. have braght them up. No matter where you end up on your travels you will always be made welcome by these people.. I found the conversation very interesting I have never heard them say so much about . about anyone.who has made the decision to move onto the canals. Perhaps they can see themselves in you ?? Beautiful scenery! I never really appreciated it when I lived near Lechlade. Our village could only be accessed with a “pass” when the Fairford air show was going on. The week before we could watch all the aircraft practicing for the show for free.
