Peaceful Birthday getaway to luxurious house in Umeå

For Jack’s birthday a friend kindly offered for us to stay in their beautiful beach house in Umeå. We had a such a peaceful time in this lovely home. We are so grateful to have been given this time to spend and celebrate Jack’s birthday in this way. There was a snow storm so we had a few cosy nights in. We did a snow bath, ate good food and just relaxed. When we got back home we spent over an hour digging our way back into the house as so much snow had fallen. Enjoy the video, lots of love Naomi ❤️

We are all so used to all the comfort and never have to deal with simple matters like having to shovel the snow to park the car. Somehow life seems fuller when you have to work a bit hard to get things done so that you can enjoy sitting in front of the fireplace later.

Got to tell you ! In the US right now, we are under SNOW ATTACK as many of us, in many states are confined to our homes, as we cannot drive our regular cars in a 12inch snow deposit !!!!!! First, the pandemic with the "bloody" Covid and then, the sequestration of what they say is an "Arctic vortex" ! Really....dudes....really ?????? Is it a natural vortex or man made by HAARP ? Someone is pissed at us !!!! Who could it be ?????? Hmmmmm. Let me think.......

I agree, but being a sauna-lover I think they should asap build a sauna. A sauna is extremely good for health and on top of that rolling around together nude in the snow would become a regular and very romantic habit ;-)

Looks like the houses are buried in snow, just like in the US......currently under " snow attack ". What a beautiful time! I really feel a need to share with you what one of my fave you tubers does - She’s older and has been doing social media/blogging for a very long time. She will sometimes start her videos by saying this and that she knows she will not be everyone’s cup of tea & if that is a viewer’s case - the viewer can just leave - without the comment- she also tells the viewers right up front - she is not afraid to delete a comment or block a viewer. Thank you for the footage of Umeå city. It's a very special city with all the birch trees along the streets. The city was rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1888 and the idea was that wider streets with the birch rows should prevent another city fire. I still have family there but I haven't visited Umeå for over a decade now. Miss it. You were lucky to be far enough from Obbola - there is a paper mill and the smell is like stinky farts. It reaches Umeå if the wind blows in that direction (it seldom does).

Yep.... Whenever we have British people over to our friends houses. Sweden / Norway... They just cant believe the build quality of Scandinavian homes. Britain has some of the worst qualify of life... Living standards compared to cost... At least in Europe.

70% of people in the UK live in houses over 100yrs old.. And a lot of houses date back 500yrs and are listed in some way.. .. So the houses can not have the same standards as modern Scandinavian homes!

@@rebeccarendle3706 Oh, the factory worker houses dotted all over the UK are old. But they arent that old. And the build quality of British houses is TERRIBLE even for people who are rich. I moved to England as a kid to do my university. So I have lived in the cheapest shit, and as I started working, I lived in the nice, posh villages along the Thames. Ultra expensive, but the build quality is absolutely terrible. Just one thing... Notice the snow 1 meter up the window on that house. And a fireplace just next to it. But the snow isnt melting near the walls. Because the heat stays inside, the cold stays outside. NO house in all of Britain is built to handle that. In the UK, if its cold outside, its cold inside. If its damp and wet outside, its damp and wet inside. Brits build houses the way america builds cars. It looks like the real thing from a distance, but the closer you get, the more you realise that it just isnt.

Captain_Context couldn’t agree with you more. Scotland where I live is even worse. It’s exactly what you described. Cold outside, cold inside (unless you got the heating on 24/7 without switching it off). Damp and wet outside, damp and wet inside. Every single house I live in.

I regularly have friends from Scotland over and they cannot believe how I can keep a 3 floor house warm and cosy with snow up to your knees outside. Houses here have an energy efficiency rating. They simply arent allowed to be moldy or poorly designed. While in England, even in rather posh houses, you can pull away the thin surfaces and find mold. And the curtains move with the wind outside even when the window is shut. Which I used to find absolutely weird when I moved to the UK as a student. And this British way of painting things shut. They paint it over until its sealed. And when I was in a hotel in London last year, same thing. Nevermind the quality of the electrical systems, the bathrooms or the 1 hot - 1 cold taps. This still goes on in completely new British homes.
