After suffering the first knock-down of his career, courtesy of a huge left-hook, Naoya Inoue rose to floor and eventually flatten Mexico's Luis Nery in six rounds, retaining his undisputed super-bantamweight title in the process.

These guys have started growing beards to hide their chins from Inoue 😅

Lmao if you look at Nery after the knockdown in the fifth round, you can actually see him pawing at his beard like he's checking to see if it's still there or Inoue knocked it off 😂

Great fight. Shame most casuals don't follow the lower weight classes, the little guys really deliver big action.

I was at the Tokyo Dome for this fight, and damn was it an event. Great atmosphere. I can't say anything different to what you say Joe, except, when Inuoe lands the audible thuds ring out, sure rings have condenser microphones up above and around the area but you can just hear them, very ominous power & its not just with the power shots, its the jabs too, everything is thrown with wicked intentions. I'm missing all of these upcoming big fights for the next two months, unable to watch due to heavy work schedule & spending off time with the Malay/Japanese missus & our little lassy which is a priority, but I'm glad I got to see Inoue in the ring for real, and I also got to see Usyk Vs. Dubois in Poland. Seeing two all time greats for real, that was something, these two are monsters. Something I noticed with Usyk (which can't really be seen/heard on screen), he has that scary power but is very, very conservative with it, however when he switches it on you hear it, I seen/heard that twice while a few rows away, once in the 5th & the jab that put Dubois down. That "jab" was a power shot. But anyway, I digress, this is Inoue's moment. What a Boxer to behold. Incredible.

Definitely shocked inoue got dropped but I knew he was gonna kill Nery after that I called him stopping Nery in 6.

Great review of the fight. I initially was not very excited about this matchup. Even before the first knockdown the situation with the past fights, and then Mike Tyson made it such an exciting drama. It made the knockdown a true.😮 moment. and we got to watch a great fight. He’s a true legend in real time.

this fight was easier then fulton fight. a total demolition by Inoue.

It was absolutely impossible for Nery to avoid that point blank, 4 inch punch right after getting his head raised by the right uppercut that came before it. Inoue let that right hand go within a few tenths of a second after it. Unstoppable. Lol I was sadistically entertained by the way Nery flew back against the ropes and crumbled.
@songmoua938915 күн бұрын
Inoue pay for not respecting Nery's power. If Inoue kept the fight at mid range to the outside like after he got KD. This would have been easy work. Nery was so frustrated that he lunges in with his head a couple time.

first inoue wasn’t hurt. second Nery jumped on it but lack the skill to finish the job especially trying to take out the untamed monster.

Inoue is great but 130 is his limit, I think he’s got the skills and the power to beat everyone up until then but the lightweights are too big.

I agree. In fact, 126 is probably going to be a tough division for him. There's some demons up there

Todays 130 is not pacquiao's era 130. Today's 130 is like 145 pounders

I kind see the knockdown in the fashion of a proffesional wild animal handler (alligator/big cats/snakes/etc) slipping up and getting bit. Sometimes it happens. When it happens, sometimes it's the end. Otherwise, it's a reminder of how dangerous the "game" is.

Thoughts on the excellent turkey stating Crawford is p4p #1 as a fact? And looking to change how p4p lists are decided? So it's done with "transparency" and "credibility"

I'll probably be scolded but I'm gonna say it, Inoue has great power and speed, but I don't see anything else world class in his game, decent iq and movement average defence, just my opinion, I'm a boxing guy! James Tony mike McCallum that's what I love. The visual of Inoue spinning like a top after that dig didn't sit well with me either.
@Yodaddio15 күн бұрын
But your own bs opinions?
@jonghoonpark549713 күн бұрын
It's kind of true that Inoue's technique, athleticism, and defense are kind of average-looking. What makes him exceptional are his stamina, toughness, and execution. His timing, and footwork, too. He attacks slightly before or at the same time as his opponent attacks, then shuffles slightly out of the way. Steps back in to counterpunch.
