Naoya is going to have to put on at least 12 to 13 pounds to get the big fights and big payper views. Look at the difference between Donaire and Pacquiao. Pacman took the challenge and moved up into the 140 range and became famous. Got big fights and pay per views, while Donaire stayed safe in the lighter weight classes until he got old and is now only known by hardcore boxing fans. Eventually you have to step up from the 108-118 weight classes and challenge yourself with the big fights in the big spotlight. Hopefully he follows in the footsteps of Manny and not Donaire.

the fight with Nonito Donaire was what REALLY impressed me. There's a difference between a guy with brick hands who can't take a punch, and a guy with brick hands who can fight 12 rounds with his orbital breaking in the 2nd against another guy with brick hands. I hope this kid keeps dominating.

very true: Inoue has a chin, endurance, and determination to go along with awe-inspiring skills and power. His potential is unlimited at this point, and he is already a legend. He isn't knocking out club fighters or padding the resume --he is destroying elite competition.

@@poncianoespiritu6527 I absolutely couldn’t agree more! Once the rest of the Boxing World can really see him he will be very well known & not just to Boxing fans, but everyone. Even average people will come know of 'The Monster Inoue’.. He’s extremely cerebral always thinking one, two or even 3 steps ahead. He studies his opponents for a few rounds to see their tendencies & then he’s got them. That left hook to liver literally shuts the nervous down after 1-2secs. Even if a fighter wants to continue their body overrides everything & they go down. The only other fighter in my opinion that moves in the league of Inoue is Lomochenko. I would LOVE to see if he could meet Tank Davis at a catch weight of say 130lbs 🇯🇵🥊 That would be my dream matchup. Cheers & all best to you my friend.

His dad is a good dad and I wouldn’t even think to associate criminals like the Yakuza to him. His dad was in his corner cheering him on, that’s more than a lot of American boxers have.

He obviously has power, but i think it´s mostly perfect punching mechanics, a demoniac timing and a flawless accuracy. He can make big combinations and land every single one. Ohhh and his conditioning is out of this world. Watching last round of the butler fight... he seemed like he was starting

Inoue let Donaire bring the trophy home to his kids bc Donaire promised his kids that he’d bring the trophy home. As a veteran of the sport and a competitor, Inoue wanted to see Donaire fulfill that promise to his children. The trophy is nice, but he also can see beyond what the object means to himself. A very traditional Japanese moral compass of respecting the elder and trying to evaluate the big picture. I’d love to see Loma come down to 126 to fight him.

If anything, that fight also highlighted why Inoue is so special. Great cardio, solid chin, his movement, and his ability to fight extremely well through adversity... Donaire is still a top fighter at his age, and he has a really good chin, only has been TKO'd once in his long career. As much as I appreciate Inoue's early knockout fights, the fight with Donaire is the one that proves he's a great champ the most.
