There's two version of Inoue. 1) if you are a pot-shotter aka point collector, and your power don't scare Inoue, he'll be the aggresor and bust you up. 2) if you're the aggressor and you lack power, Inoue will use his boxing i.q to box circles around you brake you down to create an opening for his liver shot

You could see when Inoue decided that Maloney's power was of no concern to him. Some people mistake Inoue just not giving a damn about his opponents power with Inoue lacking defensive skills -- but Inoue simply decides he doesn't care, and he'll take one to give one, if it'll get his opponent out of there sooner. Fulton wasn't touching Inoue early in that fight, but starting in the 5th Inoue decided he wanted to get Fulton to open up, even if that mrant eating a couple from Fulton -- because Inoue felt his feather-fists and was unimpressed. I guarantee you when Inoue runs into a guy whose power he respects, he'll be _much_ more defensisively responsible throughout the fight.

Yeah Inoue’s defense is actually top tier. He’s quick as fuck and his head movement in wild, he’s an elite athlete. He’s also got a great chin, keep in mind Maloney is actually a good puncher with a 73% KO/win percentage! Yet inoue made him look pillow fisted. So he’s willing to brawl a bit in order to set up a big shot, and he gets hit in the process. It’ll be interesting as he moves up in weight, I can see his first loss being by brutal KO when he just gets too cocky and gets clipped, especially up at 130 where the size difference will really start to become a factor.
@droptopp3479
@droptopp3479 5 ай бұрын
Yupp, ive said it over and over again. Inoues only flaw is he might not be able to take a big power puncher but his defense has gotten better so thats what is great about inoue. Forsure he will have to evade step back or block more often and not stay in close range when fighting someone with similar power. Donaire was the closest weve seen that had good power to beat inoue. All in all, inoue is smart fighter. He should know when to take a hit to get a hit back. When the fighter comes, he'll know when to play defense and offense

what people dont understand about Naoya is he is a compact puncher. those short punches pack a punch and if the opponent accumulate enough of those, its over. Although he is not without flawes but he improved a lot since his fight against Nonito. He know that he can get hurt and improved his lateral movement and hand parry that its hard to hit him clean.

Just one thing to consider… When people criticise Inoue, it’s usually over his tough 12 round fight with Donaire. However, Inoue fought 10 of those rounds with a fractured eye socket and double vision, still taking the decision over 12 rounds against the future hall of famer, where most boxers would have simply retired.

Tapales took a knockdown in the 4th, but he was able to survive until the 10th. Although he was dominated through most of the fight, Tapales was able to assert himself as the 2nd best in the division through his chin and his ability to adapt to Inoue's offense. Before the knockout, Tapales was boxing better than any opponent Inoue had since Donaire 1. He went out on his shield and gained a lot of respect for it.

They are correct, from 1st bout by third round with those two formidable champs, Inoue had taken away Moloney's preliminary strategy after he got tagged, somehow withstood such power yet unable deal with that, or the speed & accuracy. Inoue doesn't appear like traditional jab & parry, but full force & ferocious even while counter, pressure & gauge, unbalancing the opponent, distances then kaboom! Mayhem became concerned about protecting from those formidable left hand punches whether uppercut, hook, or counter. While still relatively strong & quick, somehow having endured through 6th especially after getting dropped by another left, but by next round was slightly lowered & hung his left jab a fraction longer, as the monster prepped then pounced with a lightning quick right. I had to slow at quarter speed to even see the knockout, but that earlier left shot seemed faster than that. When is the rematch?

This guy definitely reeks of well deserve name as the monster, I remember there was an interview after the Fulton fight, he said that he was so excited about that fight that he didn't even sleep the night before the fight lol, I can't even imagine how this Japanese Beast would dominate if he DID get some sleep before the Fulton fight
