Naoya Inoue's fight against Maloney was his last fight in the U.S. in a long time, and his recovery did not go well, and he had regained only about 8 pounds. He was not in good condition due to leg cramps from the weight loss. In the fight against Dasmarinas, he learned the lesson from the previous fight and was in pretty good condition. He had recovered 13 or 4 pounds. However, contrary to his good physical condition, there was an incident at the end that made the team pale. The custom Grant glove was too small for his left hand and his hand could not fit! The team was in an uproar, but managed to force their left hand into the glove, but their hand hurt so much that they had major concerns about their ability to land a decent punch. To the team frozen in anxiety, Inoue said, "Don't worry! I'll knock him down with a right hand!"and challenged them to a good match. You may remember that all the downs in this match were caused by body blows. He might have made all his strong punches to the body in order not to hurt his hard face with left hooks.

His ability to make good fighters look like amateurs is incredible. Donaire is the only one that seemed like a real warrior in that first fight. By the second fight, inoue was far above him. It’s crazy how good inoue is.

He's talking about the brand. Inoue used "Winning" brand gloves in his first fight against Donaire, which are better for the knuckles, but may slightly decrease the force of impact. In the rematch, he used "Cleto Reyes" brand gloves, which are better for punching, but has more potential for hurting the knuckles. Looks like it paid off in the rematch because Donaire went down fast.

They are both small fighters who pack a big punch, throw great body shots, have compact punches, and are expert counter punchers. Inoue is very clearly superior at cutting off the ring, and is a more versatile fighter. Inoue also is more ambitious and exclusively fights top ranked contenders and title holders, whereas Tank mostly talks about money and picks fighters with styles he thinks suit him.
