I know I’m late to comments here - love your videos! Napa Rose is very hit and miss and we go there often. We now only get bread, scallop. Smiling tiger salad and maybe the fish special but they can over cook fish so we have had to get it redone more than once. Desserts are great. Otherwise it’s not what it used to be. Our favorite restaurant by far is Carthay lounge - not upstairs - only downstairs. It’s the best food for foodies by far.

I felt the same way at Ohana's this year. Table of one... I have never been treated so unwelcome. My diamond ring is probably worth more than the server's car. Will never go back, threw the leftovers away cause it brought back bad memories.

We really enjoy the outdoor Bar by the pool at Grand California. The place is pretty laid back with good food for the value

I hate the feeling of being out of place and I don't like pretentious places. I own a successful business and can afford expensive meals, but I'm a casual guy and don't often 'dress up". I've come to accept that some people judge a book by its cover and that's their problem, not mine. Thanks for the honest reviews!

So, it’s been over 10 years since I’ve dined there and I imagine things have changed. But I always had a great experience sitting at the counter and ordering the “chef’s table” which is kind of an omakase tasting menu for lack of a better term. Also, this was the first fine dining experience I’ve ever had and the experience was different when sitting at a regular table/ordering off the menu. I’ve had very good experiences at the lounge when ordering smaller plates and a few drinks. That’s also so weird with the ice situation! I loved the Carthay lounge because they used to (night still) use the gravity ice spheres machine. I love my bourbon and I’m an old fashioned guy. One big piece of ice is appropriate. This isn’t Applebees.

Lol, “isn’t Applebees”….that’s the truth. I’m betting the gravity ice sphere is what I got on one of them. But yeah, no excuse for cubed ice from the well in an old fashioned in a place like this. I think we will definitely give the lounge a shot next time and hopefully have a better experience

I agree with all of the above! Coming down from Napa (born and raised) last month, this was the place I was most excited to introduce my fiancé to. I had dined there before several years ago and was impressed. This time, not so much. It wasn’t even the price, as we were prepared for that. I think you described the food exactly as we did! We also left feeling uninterested in ever returning unless it were to give the lounge a shot.

No hate here...I totally agree with you about this restaurant. I thought, wow, $350 is a lot for what they got. Then, I realized you didn't get dessert. Pretty outrageous. 😳

Yeah, I mean the drinks add up too, but it definitely isn’t inexpensive. Hoping the lounge is better next time

🙌🙌🙌 went to Napa Rose once (former annual pass holders) and have not been back since. We were sat close to the kitchen with 3 kids under the age of 6. Loud, distracting, and not worth the price. Felt extremely out of place and kinda shoved in the corner. We live by Napa Valley and feel more at home with our kids at their "highend" wineries and restaurants then Napa Rose.

We ate at Carthay Circle the last week in October and actually felt the same way as you did about Napa Rose. Meh for the money we spent just meh. Sounds like we had the same experience.

I have heard their vegan options are non existent. I do hope they change this in future for we animal lovers.

Totally agree! We would love to try it, but with no vegan options (and that awful service experience), I doubt it will make our list!

Went to Carthay and i had the same experience, our waitress made me feel uncomfortable and as much as i was excited to dine here i didn’t not enjoy at all. I felt judged the whole time

I totally agree. Napa Rose and in my opinion and all of the food at Disneyland quick and table service overrated. After going to Disneyland Grand Californian four days, I found all the waitstaff rude, inhospitable and not at all like Disney World. Disneyland one and done for me. Leave it to the locals, they demand that.

I can definitely see where you’re coming from, but hopefully you give Disneyland another shot in the future. There is something special about the resort and the people that work there that far outweighs some individual negative experiences for us. It is a shame that this happens though.

We thought it was fine. I think our dinner was better than yours, but it was not the best. Our soup blew us away. Other than that, it was a good dinner, not amazing.
