When I was growing up and started listening to Napalm Death in the late 80's/early 90's, Napalm Death was seriously one of the hardest bands in the world. Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Goreguts, Bolt Thrower, and Napalm Death were the hardest bands around. They were really one of the pioneers of modern death/black metal, and they deserve credit where it is due.

Rumor is Barney's vocals are so loud and raw they clip the microphone/speakers so they have to turn it down, dead serious. I also love that most people in the audience have no idea what's going on our how to headbang to this. Just let loose, this music is supposed to make you want to smash everything arund you. When I finally saw Napalm Death in October 2019 in Syracuse NY the audience had the same reaction. I was in awe and had to make sure that yes, what I was seeing and hearing on stage was as crazy as it sounded.

Napalm Death makes me happy. They are one of the best live shows I've seen. And all of them talked with fans and patrons of that venue after the show. Also before he introduced a song, Barney saw that I was wearing a Totalitar shirt and got really excited and gave me accolades on liking that band and then instructed everyone to listen to them. One time when I went to a Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, and Immolation show in Oakland, and literally got thrown onto the stage and Barney lent me a hand and picked me back up and gave me a pat on the back before I jumped back off the stage. I wish the Metro Operahouse never moved. It is one of few places with no barrier. They don't stop people from getting on stage and diving at the old place, but they did push whoever was on stage off onto the crowd if they stayed too long. Later they put up no stage diving signs but it was only for liability purposes
