It took me years to realize that the four giant creatures in the music video ( dragon,bull, eagle and giant) are actually a part of Icelandic culture. They're called landvættir (land spirits or literally land wights), the four giants that protect the NW NE SW and SE corners of Iceland.

As an Icelander I can confirm this. I live in Akureyri wich lies at the bottom of Eyjafjörður fjord. The eagle was said to have been so big that it's wings spanned the whole fjord, wich is tens of kilometers where it's widest.

I *just* realized that the monsters depicted in the pictures of the video are supposed to be the Landvættir (land wights), the guardians of Iceland; 0:36 is Gammur, the guardian in the north, 1:13 is Griðungur, the guardian in the west, 2:33 is Dreki, the guardian in the east, and 3:49 is Bergrisi, the guardian in the south. *That's awesome!* :D

+Leonardo Boiko Gista means to stay over, skúta is a word for a small boat, þar á laun means there in secret so there is a boat there trying to stay hidden. þeirra mikil þrek - er raun means they have much endurance for real, translated word for word but the gist is that these are good warriors. útilegumenn is our word for outlaws and dates back to when people found guilty of crimes were banished from society and made to live away from other people and hence had to sleep outside. úti = outside, legu = lie, menn = men (duh) so men who lie outside.

Have you tried singing along the lyrics without knowing them and only knowing the pronounciation rules? Try for example around 1.13. The text appears right after or exactly when he starts singing- that way I cannot sing along, since for singing along and the mind reading the text, I need some time, so it has to appear before! I hope I was clear :)
