Excellent song and video clip, I liked it very much, very catchy, with eighties vibes and very beautiful synthesizer music, and 🎹 piano. Beautiful bridge before the solo, great ending. I think the whole album will be amazing, the eighties is the music I grew up with and I always like it. I trust Morten, he has never let me down, he experiments, changes direction but the result is just as beautiful and majestic.

I generally get annoyed when uploaders cap the level at 0.5dB, but I can forgive this one because the production itself is absolutely excellent. You can hear everything crystal clear. Melancholy-themed though this song is, it's a lot lighter than the Gothic Metal of the NINE DESTINIES period - this number is very melodic Symphonic Rock. The tune itself is really good, the star of which is an excellent singalong chorus. So long as you're not too attached to the darker heavier Sirenia of yesteryear, this is well worthy of the playlist. My Score: Very Good 4*

I can't completely understand people who are missing old Sirenia or other albums that don't sound as they wanted to. Each album has its elements (good or bad) and that makes them unique. Sirenia never disappoints!

Some bands had a lot of their identity in the vocals - to me, Nightwish isn't the same without Tarja's voice. Personally, I think Perild of the Deep Blue was a perfect fit for Ailyn's voice, and the first CD with Emma after that felt like it was a bit strange. But the last CDs work just as great for Emma's voice as some of the previous albums and songs did for Ailyn's. So they managed to avoid that pitfall. In fact, I came to Sirenia after Tarja left Nightwish...

My first time hearing this band but I can see the long time fans are underwhelmed which is a shame, as an outsider there's nothing wrong with this song, but I do understand. It's a tale as old as metal; how does a band experiment or go in a different direction without some of their audience being alienated? I don't think it's possible.

Unfortunately Sirenia is suffering from the Sonic syndrome (yes, the hedgehog) where it has two waves of followers, those who like me came from Tristania and saw in the first two Sirenia albums the apex of Morten's work. For others, the second wave of followers, the apex is the subsequent albums, until the departure of Aylin. Honestly, there is no easy formula to resolve this issue. I could ask them to go back to making music with heavy riffs, two-tone growls, male cleans, violins, 12-string guitar and choirs, but at the same time, it would be selfish of me. What remains for me is to thank the first albums, also thank the attempt to return to this formula in 2015 with "The Seventh Life Path" and wish the band good luck!

@@davidnc9 of course it’s all subjective and a matter of personal taste, but I think Arcane Astral Aeons showed Emma’s voice in a better way than Dim Days of Dolor, which wasn’t written with her voice in mind (changes were made, however). It’s my favorite recent album, because of how the choirs were used, Emma’s voice, the additional electronic sounds, more experimental, complex songs. With Riddles, Ruins & Revelations the pandemic prevented Sirenia to travel to France and record the choir, so Morten experimented with more electronic sounds instead. What this album will bring is yet another surprise, but I did like the cover and love this song. I hope to hear some choirs on the new album though and yes, also Emma’s operatic skills. She’s by far the most technically skilled singer Sirenia ever had and her operatic voice is gorgeous!
