About Age of Aquarius:
The region of Epirus is famous for its landscape of mammoth mountains and holy rivers - and now experimental heavy rock. VILLAGERS OF IOANNINA CITY are deeply influenced by Greek nature and cosmic phenomena and infuse their unique brand of heavy psychedelic rock with folk instruments such as bagpipes, flutes and didgeridoos. I just discovered these guys this past year when KZbin recommended the AOA album. Right from the beginning, I was floored. The entire album is a testament to the human spirit, but this song was and still is a standout. It seems to take so many things I've always loved about music and combines them into one opus. And that ending -- it starts at the final chorus, setting you up for a tribal/spiritual jam experience. It builds and builds, the guitars kicking in and every independently beautiful part joining together into a perfect cacophony of sound. It's no exaggeration to say I get full-body chills every single time I hear this song, amd a little over half of the time I shed a tear or 20. Just pure emotional and sonic bliss.

Pristine production. Catchy guitar work. Strong vocal performance. Spiritual but not corny. Earthly in its traditional roots but also extraterrestrial in its futuristic lyrics, expression and execution. Reflecting the current zeitgeist as well - it's actually said that we indeed have entered the Age of Aquarius if you didn't know. The eponymous song is a freakin' hymn of uncompromising internal freedom if there ever was one and was also my personal hymn of the crazy 2k20 summer. Oftentimes I find myself carelessly yelling the lyrics along with the track playing at max volume haha. Breathtaking. Badass. A future classic - from the artwork to the message to the music itself.

I agree with radical social change but it means a lot of inner change and commitment. Not just watching but participating in the changes needed to guard this planet from imminent destruction of resources. Unfortunately the old guard has let dumbness and greed reign and keeping the people down. I wish I will live long enough to see this great change needed to a new future. The right is king now in my country(USA). Its really supporting the very corrupt nature of man that needs to go via Social Darwinism. The election is bringing guns into a street and people fear a all out civil is growing as I type this. Writers have predicted that America would break out into its own destruction the system is falling apart at the seems and no one seems to want to say it in the mainstream media. Nor will they comment on tension between China and India. I guess we are in for a wild ride before we can really change things.I still have blind hope in me.

Absolutely love this video! The graphics and art blend so well with the vibes~ 💗💗💗 and this band is definitely one of my all time favorites. This song just speaks to me on all kinds of levels it's ridiculous. I love that we're in the Age of Aquarius, and my North Node is actually ♒. Just makes this song have more depth for me on a personal level, and songs are always that much more unique when they connect to the audience in a means that's euphoric, and esoterically thought provoking for an individual with a song meant for the masses as a collective whole. The best part is how well it all seems to connect despite those individual differences and barriers.

It started to get so intense gathering all this to the top of my head it just stopped and I was me again like nothing happened ... After all this I noticed I stopped the time at 3:11 /8:44 on the song, my master number is 11 cus I'ma aquarius 11th sign of the zodiac, 11-3=8 (I'm a life path #8) 4+4=8 ... With the left over over from the 8:44 before I added the 4's give me 3 8's ever since I had my spiritual awakening things happen to me in pairs of 3's yesterday I had a thought about 3 numbers 8's n kept we wondering why.... Or maybe I'm just thinking about this too much and too deeply lol

As a long time enthusiast of more folk instrument-heavy metal, Villagers of Ioannina City's music always struck me as being somewhat out of wack, like the folk-ish parts and the metal-ish parts and the mystical-ish parts just never truly came together in previous albums, but this entire album just mixes it all together so well in a way that just feels brilliantly unique and almost transcendent at points. VOIC is now one of those bands you go out of your way to actively listen to just for the experience of listening to it, and I bloody love it.

Definitely their best album yet. I'm guessing they had a different producer for this album. The sound is bigger/epic, and certainly matured in style and skill. :) It's awesome.

4 min into the video I haven't heard any folk music references yet. These guys being greek doesn't automatically make them "folk". If this is what you mean by "mixing it all together" well at least in this track they seem to have thoroughly mixed the folk out of it. All I can hear is some prog rock

@@fiedelmina Well, I think that within over a year of the comment, you've already had listened to the rest of the song and noticed the clarinet kicking in at 6:23, and bagpipes a minute later :D Anyway, the comment is about the whole album, with e.g. "Father Sun" being all about bagpipes and kaval mixed with electro. Anyway, I'm no pro in music, so I am no one to judge.

Its about the the aquarius era. We recently entered into this era and living the apocalypse (this is what they Also speak about into one of their final songs in the album « innocent ») it means the Time of suffering is over. We will rise again soon as they say. It is Time to come back to mother nature, the center of the earth. All the element are present in this songs. This is about à cycle like they Also explain in the song and the graphics pattern in the lyrics in emphasing that. Look at the spiral symbol that symbolize reincarnation. Every era on earth is represented by a zodiac sign wich last 2500 years (im not sure but it pretty long) humanity has known abundance but failed. Because they whorshiped false gods, beings that they considered superior and made « empty bow » as they said. So all the beings and univers waited for humanity to be ready again. Below average song. The mix is weak. The riffs, vocals and structure- everything is substandard and boring af! It sounds like every other 2000s rock chant that never made it beyond the middle of the billboard. This is what you get when you crossbreed privilege and boredom. Respect and fight for Farhan Akhtar the director till the day I die. But this I can't side with. Horrible.
