The thicker you apply the crackle medium the larger the crackle, but in this application I think the small crackles are gorgeous. I love the outcome. I am always looking for coasters, but I think I am just going to make my own now!!!! Thanks for the great tutorial....

I thought the small crackle you achieved was absolutely lovely, I wouldn't want the cracks larger on something so small as a coaster so perfect. 😊🐾

I think the small crackles are perfect for the size of coaster 👍👍 So with the water method the napkin is put straight onto the painted surface? No glue under? The coasters are exquisite!

You have just gained a new subbie! I stumbled on this video quite by chance tonight, and I am blown away but what you have done here. I already have some napkins and wood coasters plus decoupage medium, so I am good to start, while I get some of the other stuff! LOVE the effects of the crackle glaze, it's awesome! Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos!

Delightful to watch, and the end product is beautiful. I used to decoupage - quite a few years ago - but never knew about 'floating' the napkin on water to get the wrinkles out. I'm intrigued to give it a go. Thanks for posting!💖

I wonder if this effect can be used with just a crackle medium. I just don’t know what I would use for Step 2 that is clear. Maybe just a sealer. Hmmmmm! You make it look so easy, so I will give it a go using a crackle medium vs a crackle lacquer! Thank you for the beautiful tutorial!
@cjsimplyscraps3 жыл бұрын
I have not used that brand of crackle but generally speaking using Finnabair’s or Stamperia’s crackle paste the thicker you apply the paste the bigger the cracks, the thinner gets you fine cracks. These are gorgeous!

Great idea to use a plastic file folder to eliminate all the bubbles and wrinkles! ❤ You’ve probably figured this out in the last 2 years 😂 but I’ve used crackle medium and found a thick coat or a thin coat of the product determines the size of the crackles. I think your small crackles are the perfect size for these coasters. Sorry to take so long to find you, but glad I found this project and all the great techniques you used! I’m thinking of doing this to make over some perfectly good but dated coasters I have around here. Jan
