I think the new commercial buildings right off of Wiggens started construction when the interest rates were a lot lower. On top of that when interest rates are higher, the people who have a lot of cash buy two lots, tear down the houses and build one big house. Because they aren't taking out a mortgage to fund the project. Also you can get a better deal on a house when its a buyers market, which also coincides with higher interest rates.

Florida's becoming overly gentrified, and because Fla. has no mountains to prevent building in certain areas....the whole state is slated to be built over and developed....a really devastating hurricane would delay the whole thing though.
