Naples Italy was not what I expected

The city of Naples Italy has long been a place that I've wanted to check out, so me and Petar decided to do a quick weekend trip to see the sights.
The "real" Italy definitely isn't what I've seen on Tik Tok, but there were enough beautiful sights to make the trip absolutely memorable.

If you are a snobbish traveler Naples is not for you. Go directly to Amalfi coast next time! Naples is not for everybody fortunately, but if you want to see elegant places in Naples you should go to other districts that are very elegant and clean like: Chiaia, Possilllipo or Vomero, Naples has the largest historical center in Europe and it is entirely UNESCO world Heritage, there are more than 100 art or historic museums, 448 historical churches, 4 castles, three royal palaces, the most beautiful and ancient theater in Europe (San Carlo), 2 of the most important museums of the world like The National archaeological museum and Capodimonte gallery. Also there is an underground city specular to the city that you walk, I think dirty places are not forever, but history and culture could be.

Naples....nice trip I hope you had a time to visit Pompei and top of volcano. We were there just one day, stationed in Rome and then by train to Naples. Naples was very dirty but interesting to see , just like Serbia south of Italy is poorer than the north. Nice vlog Maria :)

Unfortunately we did not! We didn’t give ourselves enough time. And yeah, I was surprised by how dirty it was, but the museums made up for it

Just so you know, Naples is probably one the most, if not the most "getto" cities in Italy. Loud, graffiti everywhere, trash.... if this is your first time in Italy, this is NOT what most Italy is like. Best thing about Naples is they have imo the best pizzas in whole Italy. Other than that, go visit Rome, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Amalfi, Sienna, Polignano Amare etc.... Cities that are also not impressive to me were Genoa and Milan (just has that one main square with beautiful church and thats it)

Yeah we definitely went to naples for the art and museums! The city itself wasn’t my favorite. Planning on heading back to Italy to check the rest out though, especially the coast! Rome is also at the top of the list 🥰
