Well done. Your explanation of each step would give even an entry level DIY mechanic the confidence necessary to accomplish this task.

I believe the extra cooler is for automatic transmission models. The replacement must be a "one size fits all" part.

Yeah, it could be used for other add ons like power steering coolers as well.

Watched several radiator replacement videos and this is the best and easiest to follow so far! This gives me more confidence to do this. Biggest concern is jack stand placement as I’m always worried about getting under a jacked up car

Thanks for the feedback! Pinch welds are best. Sometimes I’ll throw the wheels underneath also if I start to get anxious while I’m under the car.

I wish I saw this video first. I watch another one and winged it when I try to take clips that attached the AC to the radiator. If i did it your way I wouldnt be in a pickle. Now I gotta try to reclip the AC line to the radiator. you showed an amazing view that made more sense to me. Thank you. I was losing hope and thought I had to remove my ac to get my Mushimotor radiator to fit

Awesome tutorial. My NB1 has the same brown/green color, so it looks like I may need to do this sooner than later. I’ve only done basic maintenance on my car at this point, but I guess there’s there’s a time when you have to just jump into the more difficult jobs. Wish me luck that I don’t get in over my head.

Couple tips I learned the hard way that weren't mentioned, if doing a full coolant flush be sure to run the heater to get the coolant/air flushed out of the core. Also make sure the rubber gasket on the funnel kit doesn't get stuck in the radiator fill neck otherwise you won't be able to (easily) get the rad cap back on.
@NappMotorsports
@NappMotorsports 3 жыл бұрын
The heater core will flush regardless of turning the heat on actually. It’s all propelled by the water pump, so fluid is flushing through the system no matter what! Did not know about the filler neck rubber gasket. I’ll keep an eye on that in the future so it doesn’t bite me. Thanks for the head up!

Thank you for the video. I notice the two fittings coming out of the bottom. My replacement has those as well, but the stock one does not are they blocked off not sure if I should install it or not?
@NappMotorsports
@NappMotorsports 9 ай бұрын
They are for a transmission cooler. You can leave them unblocked and it won’t matter.

@@NappMotorsports yea admittedly the stock one is pretty thin and there's a circular punch out that can get old and fall out xD Saw a nice aluminum one by Dave Fab UK but finding the drawing that had the oem one was nagging at me
