The most striking thing about your videos is the peacefulness and calmness they exude. The manner of speaking of both of you and even the way you walk and eat are an antidote to a world with people that are often agitated and at odds with each other. Well done!

Those deer are so cute, they have become Nara’s tourist mascot! They have been in contact with humans for a long time and cannot be considered wild animals! It has been reported that doctors do not recommend that tourists come into contact with those deer to avoid contracting germs! Ohagimochi was used as an offering when Japanese people visited tombs at the beginning of the Edo period! By the way, the world's tallest bronze seated Buddha is in Fo Guang Shan, Kaohsiung. The Buddha statue of Sakyamuni is 108 meters high, equivalent to 36 floors, and weighs 1,780 tons! Thanks a lot for sharing such a wonderful video, really great job! 👍🥰🙏

Even in Japan, deer flee becoz they're hunted. The Thunder God (Take-mikaduchi no kami) enshrined at Kasuga Grand Shrine, descended to Nara riding a large white deer. The followers of the thunder god cherish the deer as descendants of God messengers.

@shirankedo-ib8uv I'm aware that people hunt in Japan. In the US there are 26 million legal hunters. In Japan there are 500,000. The deer here fear people.

@@CallengeXceptedI don't think it matters how often hunting is done. If there's a religion that considers deer sacred, then deer in that area can coexist with humans. Just like cows in India.

you're in a way lucky to have visited a year plus after borders open after covid. I went there in Nov 2022 and the deers were very hungry, some bit my son's jacket coz he was holding on to the senbei too long and not feeding them. And we saw this other tourist being chased after by a herd of deers. 😅 The only good thing being the first few tourist to come back to Japan after borders open was, every place was so much less crowded.

@Midori-Clover
@Midori-Clover 24 күн бұрын
However, after that, Japan broke away from Chinese influence and formed its own unique culture, and in the mid-19th century, fearing becoming a colony of the Western powers that were advancing into Asia, Japan opened its ports and desperately tried to learn Western culture. Modern Japan is a fusion of Western culture and traditional Japanese culture, but it has not forgotten its ancient culture and continues to pass it on.☝️😌🍀

Yeah. Nara was wonderful, prior to being overrun by foreign tourists. Industrial tourism arrived with the construction of two hotels in Nara Park. Four hotels in the central downtown. A Marriott nearby Shin-Omiya. And several within the viinity of JR Nara. Todaiji is no longer a sacred temple - it's a cash cow for those that remain of the Kegon sect of Buddhism. Local, independent businessses are being crowded out of the central downtown area by the hordes of foreign tourists. Local businesses are dependent on repeat business from Nara residents. Locals avoid downtown because of the crush of foreign tourists. Nara Park has become a queer, Disneyfied and quite wretched place; that was once quiet druing the week and a placid place to visit. Go visit Kyoto or Osaka. Better yet, go to Las Vegas or just stay home.
