This is a good detailed video on how to parry, good job! Just to share the most annoying to parry is when your enemy is low or high ping. You need to adjust the timing on the fly 😅

omg this is such a good guide🔥 well even though i'm a casual player but i've been wanting to learn dodge parry, cuz why not? i think it's just cool & satisfying! and there's so much details in vid! thank you so much! but maybe i have to build my muscle memory for Composite Parry i think... because i really never used it, i always use jump & crouch parry with G... never really know there is a different until i watch this guide, once again thank you so much for making this video, keep up the good work man!🔥

You know, I've become good at parrying only to realize that once you get to empyrean and above, people don't even use focus anymore. They just normal/jump attack you to death and if you try using a blue focus to go through the spam, you either get parried or they dodge away and somehow regain their momentum to spam you again. I need a tutorial on how to combat the spam and keep enemies stunlocked like they keep me locked lol

this only work on high fps and low ping with high spec pc if not even if you press "q" to parry it will take a long time to register at that moment your already taken damage unfortunately if you want to play like pro or montage thats just how it is🎉

dodging with hold dodge needs tons of practice
@taco271811 ай бұрын
It does indeed. Spacing, knowing common release timings and understanding the range/speed of focus attacks are major pre-requisites to hold dodge more consistently. These are not things that can be easily picked up, but it'll come with continuous practice over time, and in combination with these parries will end up being really rewarding

I heard composite parries no longer exists, both parries are same. Is that true?
@lyricknight598011 ай бұрын
Hey nice tutorial thank you! Can you make a video teaching how to dodge attacks, when to use roll or crouch and how to get behind your opponent? In the arena against me people dodge all my attacks on reaction, I can't even hit them, how to train the same reaction?
@habaronron690311 ай бұрын
hi bro can you make a video on how to dodge more consistently blue focus attacks, and explain how to space yourself in fight. I feel this is the key to becoming a very good player... didnt see 1 video on this.

Wait there is really a difference between quick counter and composite parry? It did seem for me to be the same. gosh so i have to activate composite parry again. damn
@taco271811 ай бұрын
I elaborated on this another comment, but long story short, quick parry and composite parry are entirely identical outside of two cases. While sprinting and mid dodging, quick parry is slower than composite parry. You can check frame data for parries here naraka.wiki/Combat

nice vid, im still working with 120ms lol
@taco271811 ай бұрын
Appreciated! Yeah 120ms is quite high unfortunately, makes dodging focus attacks really difficult in the first place, on top of delaying when your parry becomes active. Could definitely mess with a few if not most of these. Wishes for more servers have been forwarded to the devs plenty of times, but who knows if and when they might listen

What would you recommend for the talents? Specifically for solo matches if I am gonna have to pull this off multiple times. 👀
@taco271811 ай бұрын
I personally run full stamina in the left, top and right glyphs, and full grapple range in the bottom glyphs. For solos that's a workable glyph board, but if you really want to minmax, you probably want to also use some rage/dmg, rage/dmg taken, rage/s and cooldown reduction glyphs. It sort of depends on your character, Takeda for example really likes full CDR glyphs so he can pull off certain ToDs with his V1, since CDR affects how fast he can use his furen charges back to back. Another example is that Ziping gets a dash that doesn't cost any stamina after using her F, so she can get away with sacrificing some stamina glyphs for rage/s, rage/dmg and rage/dmg taken, but wants at least a few CDR glyphs to have her F more regularly to compensate You can either try to minmax around your character like that, or just be lazy like me and be full stamina, full grapple range warrior

@callmepurp11 ай бұрын
There isn’t any difference now that’s just what he’s using out of preference
@taco271811 ай бұрын
They are identical in the absolute majority of cases. However there are two specific scenarios where they're different, and that's when mid dodging and sprinting. During either of those two actions, quick parry is still slower than composite parry. You can check parry timings here naraka.wiki/Combat If you keep holding shift and a movement key after hold dodging, you enter sprinting state, in which quick parry is slower. I don't actually know how commonly this affects dodge parries without focus hold, but I prefer to just use composite parry to make sure. Might totally not be necessary, just a habit I've developed
@glisteningDiamond251211 ай бұрын
@@taco2718 Thank you takao for linking actual frame data. I'm only picking Naraka up fairly recently and still confused due to conflicting info about quick and composite parry.
@taco271811 ай бұрын
@@glisteningDiamond2512 No problem! Quick parry used to be extremely bad, so there are some people/videos out there with the outdated opinion that it shouldn't be used, but these days it does indeed work quite well. Such type of outdated info is unfortunately still common with Naraka. Regardless, I'd keep composite parry active for the two edge cases where quick parry is slower (and to discourage yourself from button mashing kek)
@glisteningDiamond251211 ай бұрын
@@taco2718 just played some match using scissor parry now, and it's much quicker than using quick parry, thank u so much!
