Totally thought this was a hidden episode until I read that it's from the PS1 game. I like these additional non-canon story lines. this was back when anime wasn't a quick money maker; nowadays, anime can't even get their own games.

saturneternal I agree. I really enjoy these myself. Years back we all were trying to figure it out. I can't believe it took this many years for us to confirm exactly where. Back then this -was- Naraku's death to us. Even when we played with action figures we used this as the closest thing to canon. I was joking earlier in our FaceBook group (if you haven't seen it you are free to join!) that I was going to make a timeline for the official licensed product storyline including Rumic world. Since technically the movies do actually have a canon order to watch them. I wrote down the exact order. But roughly between each 2-3 seasons for the way that they made them. What's funny is people don't realize that the movies have had some sort of collab with Rumiko herself too. She drew a lot of the characters; Menomaru, Touga, Kaguya etc. and approved the storylines. Also we are going to be translating more like the "Eiga InuYasha2" trailer that was very popular due to how odd it was compared to the final movie production. I would love to hear any feedback or suggestions from you too. - InuYasha -

Except the fragments are once again scattered across Japan, not sealed from the world. I had thought that Kikyo's intent was to let him use the crystal to become a full demon but at that point Naraku would cease to exist as anything other than a mindless monster that only knew to fight and hence could be defeated. Sigh, how beta canon is almost always less than satisfactory.

@@asmodeus253 Minor correction: Onigumo was Naraku's human name, back when he was a bandit. He made a deal with Onigumo and he and countless other demons fused with the man, creating Naraku. Though he did take Lord Kagewaki's body, giving Naraku his iconic appearance. Point is, it was the fusion of Onigumo and countless demons that created Naraku and made him a half-demon.
