A playthrough of Acclaim's 1990 NES game, NARC.
It takes about two seconds in to realize, with a relieved sigh, that this was developed by Rare. Given how advanced the arcade game's hardware was for 1988, this is a surprisingly accurate conversion! The most surprising thing about this is how shockingly suggestive it is - not that it's anything by modern standards, but this is the NES! Murderous clowns, pot-growing greenhouses, and porn kings all appear in their full glory.

This is probably the only official NES game that features porno kings, pot nurseries, and a final boss fight that begins with blowing a guy out of his wheelchair with a missile. It's amazing.

My dad brought me this game when I was 9 years old, but then my mom told me to give it away to someone else after she found out it contained gun violence, shooting dogs, blowing people up into bloody pieces as well as since the original arcade contained drugs.

Oh yeah? My mom didnt mind me or my sis or my brother watching and playing whatever we wanted... when i turned 9y old, i had allready seen allmost all good movies from Dirty Harry to The Thing and David Cronenbergs remake of Fly and Shining.... all that stuff, she allways asked what movie i was gonna watch or what i borrowed but it was because she was curious and she never came in to check if we were really watching what i said. If i had borrowed whatever horror film or violent picture or game or whatever, i never had to hide it and watch it secretly. I could go on and tell her that mom im watching this film were this guy turns into a fly and his ears and other body parts fall of and then his gf has a nightmare and in it she gives a birth to this worm! And she would just go is that Jeff Goldblum on the cover? She likes him.

As for the NES game, it was released in 1990 and it got an endorsement from the organization, Just Say No International in which Nancy Reagan was ironically the spokeswoman and leader behind it.

Average democrat run city in America. Just switch the races of the drug addicts and have the game immediately end after you shoot the first guy, with the game over screen being the narc officer getting sent to prison for returning fire. You can only defeat enemies by dodging their bullets and arresting them, then they immediately drop back down from the screen because they got bailed out by the state. Basically, just this game on nightmare mode.

This version lets you buy in during the final boss whereas the arcade version would force you to start the entire fight all over again if you use a continue.

Sadly, while the port retains the violence and gore, Nintendo ordered the drugs removed. However, it's better than the 2005 reboot.

Yeah, it removed some, but not all of the drugs. You still confiscate white baggies and fight outside of a pot growing place
