It's Lucky! The return of the Micro-Panther!! As for the story of that DM...oh dear god, that story actually reminds me of a campaign I was a player in that became an absolute NIGHTMARE...one involving myself, the DM, his DMPC, and his manipulative girlfriend who not only HATED me (and the feeling was mutual) but got made into a mod AND her PC quickly because extremely (over)powered AND she absolutely despised MY character because he not only was viewed extremely favorably by the rest of the party but I was also recognized as one of the dominant roleplayers of the whole group. She wanted to take things into a very different direction and become much more dominant and she viewed me as direct competition AND opposition. At one point she ran a campaign and SPECIFICALLY raised the difficulty level JUST for me, and I wasn't just imagining things either. It was a campaign where we were specifically competing against several other long-time players who'd not only been turned "Evil" and been encouraged to treat the rest of us as such, but they'd been given GIGANTIC boosts in power in the form of _TRIPLING_ their previous levels, making them extremely overpowered to a point where no one could conceivably match them. Her explanation was that "everyone else had to cooperate in order to beat them", but even when we did, the rest of us (myself included) were so much weaker by comparison that the power imbalance still gave them a distinct advantage that no amount of die-rolling or roleplaying could overcome. The objective of the campaign was to collect several artifacts of supreme power that, when combined, would basically summon a god who would then transform our ENTIRE campaign world that we'd been playing in and developing for over FIVE YEARS at that point. Each adventure was supposed to revolve around acquiring ONE artifact at a time, but she gave "her" side (her DMPC was part of the "Evil" group) an extra artifact at the end of one session because "we took too long in getting the other one"...except that no time-constraints had EVER been discussed or agreed upon. In another combat session I'd been rolling extremely well and had actually rolled a series of critical hits and dodge-saves, including one where I rolled a Nat 20 and succeeded in blocking a hit from one of "Her" sides' fighters. Her response? "Reroll that. You can't have made that roll fairly." I immediately protested. She accused me of cheating on a random number generator. I, along with her boyfriend, told her that it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to have cheated with the random number generator: the rolls were completely random and we could ALL see the results generated. She tried to accuse me of somehow hacking it, but I told her that A.) I didn't know the first thing about hacking a computer program, and B.) if I was cheating like that she'd better come up with proof of it. In fact, I DARED her to come up with proof because I'd love to have know just how it was possible to hack a closed system app that her boyfriend had created HIMSELF. There were also instances where when "Her" side won, she increased the amount of their rewards, one time justifying it because I'd been "a pain in everyone's ass" despite the fact no one else among the players felt the same way. In the end, her campaign had been so imbalanced that at the final battle her side still had a massive advantage that the rest of us, even when we were combined like the Avengers, could do little to affect the outcome. We lost, but only barely, so her boyfriend (the supreme DM of our campaign world) made her tone down the scope of her victory since her side won by only the slimmest of margins. She still hated it and gave HER players MASSIVELY increased amounts of experience points over and above what we'd originally been told the post-game amounts were going to be. Naturally, we ALL felt like we'd been railroaded and used as punching bags for her "More Serious Characters" to show how "Awesome" they were, especially since they were Min-Maxed Bleach-style (yes, as in the anime) "Main Characters" who were combat monsters that didn't need anyone else helping them since they were all about twenty levels higher than EVERYONE else...which automatically relegated the rest of us to not much more than background characters. Because HER character had the power of God and Anime on HER side. I could write a WHOLE STORY for the Doge to read about this campaign.

If I were to make a story of this I would put him as a belligerent General who refused to give up attacking this specific Ford even long after the Ford was abandoned after many times losing it his remaining soldiers which used to be a huge Army now was two soldiers who were major fuck ups and got assigned to him and yeah they could only shake their head as he rated the empty abandon falling into disrepair Ford and tell himself he finally won when everybody else already moved to a different location and that location was now no longer viable to anybody he triumphantly returns home expecting a parade only no help some individuals were so well terrified of his Insanity no one went down to try to inform him that he had been busted down to private first class name the two soldiers left his command were major fuck up who didn't even make it Beyond private! The despair is set in but he did his best to try to pretend he was still this high-ranking General and this was the enemy of the Ford's master plan against them and he needed to reverse it but everyone has said shakes their head knowing he's just trying to deny reality he lost hugely and instead of just giving up walking away and bettering himself elsewhere you know lost the battle won the war he instead continued the fight a losing battle! Poster said the best he's a loser who will never self-analyze and still has the feel like he's big he knew those accounts were no longer used but banned them anyway to try to pretend to himself that he won but is crying inside because now he's Alone Again and for others who feel the worst type of pity to try to play with him try to change him I'm going to tell you right now don't bother! He's a person who has shown he will never learn get under him and he will immediately start to try to want to dominate everything of you because it's the only thing he knows he can't feel big unless others are small! This is the schoolyard bully who still takes over the sand pit and is still an adult! Reminds me of a Japanese Horror Story of a woman who was a terrible horrible bully to a young boy who was enamored by her till she got the boy bit by a dog in her mad attempts to try to get him away from her because she had a crush on a boy! Fast forward she still crushes on said guy but then the boy comes back into her life now a handsome man and she gives up her crush on the other guy at the pursuing it for so long to pursue him because he's interesting! Fast forward they marry and have a son but then the boy disappears completely no explanation nothing! For a while she's forced to live as a single mother but well in a dark twist her son ends up growing up at the age his father was when he was a kid looking just like his father and the woman not only snaps she ends up pulling out her old clothes from when she was 10! Even put her hair into twin ponytails that she had back then and started calling her son who didn't understand what was going on his father's name! Let's just say she started to abuse her son in the same fashion she had done her husband when they were young the abuses were originally her attempt to get him to stop following her because her Crush made fun of the two of them and she had assumed it was because he was around her even though her Crush had been insulting to her even before the boy came around! Initially she only looked out for him because the boy's mother gave her candy as a thank you but then she want to have her cake and eat it still get the candy wall wanting the kid nowhere around her! The great is irony is her Crush was actually interested in dating her an adulthood but this is around when the boy came back and swooped her off her feet! When she snapped she's assumed this was all his grand plan! Still accusing him of wanting to keep her away from her Crush! As stated no one knows what happened to the husband to make it clear if you had abandoned her or not but I think this was supposed to illustrate how old habits die hard! And once you have that taste of being all horrid bully. You can never stop it's like a drug for him he felt big when he was a bully so when he was forced to be like everybody else he just couldn't stand it and every time he was put in his place he probably was thinking about the good old days when he was in charge! And he has the empty feeling now that he won because nobody was playing anymore! The humiliation and still trying them role play his victory over everyone was the kicker

Dm might have been pitiful but not as much as op and all who stuck with the dm. I can't imgaine hating myself enough and having so little regard for my time and health to subject myself to that.

I’m completely new to table top RPGs, so I barely understood what was going on, but this general manager (correct me if that’s not what GM stands for) sounds so far up his own ass he could tell you what he had for lunch last night. Also, how hard is it to play test all your character types and game systems before it properly starts?

GM actually stands for Game Master. Basically the person running the game and playing all the NPCs

GM (Game Master) and DM (Dungeon Master) are two terms usually meant to describe the same person. They are the person running and heading the game. Usually, they are the ones who "built" the main story with all the bosses, NPCs, encounters, etc that the players have to work through. Some can be really great but others let the power go to their heads and basically make "worlds" where they can do whatever they want in them and will sometimes punish players who go against that the DM/GM wants to do.
