Pisses me off that some (or even a lot of) hyper-sexual furries assume that all other furries are hyper-sexual like they are. I do not participate in the fandom but I draw animal/Pokemon anthros pretty frequently (which probably makes me a furry by definition). If you use rolling tables to create characters, why include races/classes you don't like? Why not just say "Oh, I don't like gnomes, so if you roll 22, roll again until you get something different." Heck, if he'd carried on, he might have grown to like the character. I didn't like the goblin rogue in a game I ran for a friend of mine, but he turned out to be the star of the show. That DM was just being an a-hole and shouldn't be allowed behind the DM screen.

I'd like to think the dm didn't shut blood hunter down right away because he wanted him to see what happens when you make a decision like that and how it would cause the other players to go after you. Though that's just my guess.

It sounds to me a lot like what Kate was what we called back in the 80s a bimbo. Sort of like what Barbie in the movie is, she's kind of light-headed, doesn't quite grasp anything, but she's just really glad to be there, having fun because those little plastic things go clickety clack and everybody says yay at the end. I think I'd have gone the Karmic Transformation route where Paladin's character is turned into a tiefling by their god, before they can land the blow. As part of Paladin's broken oath, he will forever take the form of the innocent he tried to slay.

This reminds me of a player I had who kept insisting my Drow NPC was evil because apparently red-eyed Drow all belong to Lolth or something. This insistence came after I mentioned MULTIPLE times that the base D&D gods don't exist in my campaign. I told them repeatedly that I had a unique set of gods in my campaign, which leads to different origins of races. (Mainly because I am a new DM and sure as hell am not going to research a bunch of gods when I can make my own.) Turns out this Drow was friendly, and that trying to kill them openly in front of the entire island's authority was a BAD idea.

I think the story where the orc bought a polo shirt and cosmetic glasses should have worked. I would imagine it would make him look more civilized and less like a savage brute which should change peoples reactions to him. Though the problem would probably fbe fighting while wearing glasses.

The last story. In game racism can introduce interesting role-playing opportunities. I would only have something like that, however, with a DM and players that I trust very well. Let's be real here, though. Nine times out of ten, when a DM makes racism a major part of their game, it isn't to explore the negative effects of racism or make a point how it is a bad thing. They do it so they can indulge in some racism.

Imagine, the dick player is a dick. We had a guy (chaotic Neutral) do this kind of nonsense and my character set him up for arson and attempted murder and his character was arrested, tried, and executed. He always played a random and dangerous to the party character. He was kicked out of the game after his character was executed. I can't imagine playing a superhero game and not looking to be part of a group. Even my most unsocial characters were never that bad, let alone racist. How strange. Creating a character that has a negative reaction modifier based on race and then being shocked when he or she faces the effects of a negative modifier based on that race and expecting clothes to make a difference is... unrealistic. Did the clothes make him not a half-Orc? No? Then why are you surprised? I have a setting where a number of the races that don't like each other, but get along in public because that's just what you do for society to work. Some races are also a bit condescending to others, like the Lupron that treat Halfmen like children. Or the Thannag that will actively antagonize human men. But I make it plain that that kind of think WILL happen and if it hurts your feelings as the player you need to grow up.

To be fair about the orc story, A montage to a cool eighties track can achieve a lot of things.

ngl that last DM sounds like he recently played Fear & Hunger or watched someone else play it on KZbin. Every encounter in that game you have to dismember your opponents or risk losing your limbs or eyes.

The "Curse if Strahd" game sounds like the DM really wanted to play a Yu-Gi-Oh based game, but either couldn't find people, or decided without telling the players he would have a better chance getting players if he pretended it was a popular module. Not cool! Grung Monk IS kind of OP, but the DM's weird homebrew was gamebreaking. I think the DM wanted to play his weird fantasy in spite of what the players wanted. Yes, as a DM, you run what you want, but you need to consider your player's wants and desires too. I think the DM lacked the maturity for his role and he should just go write bad fan fiction.

That Rat story sounds very typical to me of the kind of player that see's their character like some sort of puzzle box that others need to pry and solve by constantly enteracting with them, needing 100% of all enteractions to be others comming to it. Most of the times is is pure due to inexperience, and in some main character syndrome, from my experience at the very least
