I think it's really helpful to understand the dissociation and multiple personalities of the narcissist, especially if you're dealing with the vulnerable or covert. They can easily gaslight you and isolate you because you will question yourself and worry if others will believe you.

I have a friend I'm on the outs with at the moment. Come to think of it every winter we're on the outs. It sounds seasonal but business wise he struggles every winter and he viciously lashes out. He often devalues and discards numerous people in his life at this point. I happen to be a prankster so I'm the first to go every winter.

dear professor, thank you very much for your very interesting and important work and videos. I have one comment namely: it is very understandable and logical that victims of narcissistic abuse feel innocent (and therefore the victim) because that is an important aspect, if not the key to the door of the shared fantasy. letting go of the shared fantasy is difficult, it would mean that it must be faced that a blind spot, perhaps an unfulfilled need was the cause of all the misery that followed. where it started it will end. 🙏

Professor Sam, Thanks a million for this Video especially the concluding sentences @53.22, where you mention about Narcissists invading the mind and is talking to you in the head..... this part of Psychosis needs at least 1 Video from you to help explain us. I have battled many narcs in my life time. They are in form of Relatives and Boss and they have entered in my mind and they are talking to me ALL day. From Night time I go to Sleep until Early Morning first thing as I am awake and then thru the entire day on and off. I feel I will become insane due to their talking to me. Images in my head change from Boss to a Relative from one relative to another. How to stop this talk in the head? I cannot leave my Job as yet because I did not know until few months back that these personalities are Narcissist and I was their verbal abused victim. Also I do not reply back to people when they insult or shame me. I am now starting to come into realization .... Is there any hope? Is there a technique to have these Narcs stop talking to me in my head? Also do they know that I am talking to them and replying to them? because they seem to reply me back immediately..... in my head ... not in reality at all

this is my mother, you can't communicate with her because her narrative is a broadcast. If I RECEIVE it with a smile, she is pleasant. But if I try to shift the dynamic to something more reciprocal, she gets very annoyed, sends out a ''warning shot'' and then if I ignore that, I get the silent treatment. In the past I would eventually apologise for upsetting her but ... and she'd accept the apology but cut me off again. The first time I insisted on being heard, I was excluded from the family. My mother shut down all communication, and yet, blames me for the damage that did

I came across your videos in Sep 2024 and been watching religiously ever since. I must admit that I try to stay away from continuous watching but it’s nearly impossible, your content is GOOD. While through your videos I’ve been able to find clarity to 99% of my questions, there’s a 1% I haven’t been able to figure out. However, after watching one of your resent ones in which you addressed the comment of one of your faithful followers what I now refer to as a ‘fellow co-follower’, since I consider us your followers to be a little cult kind of crew 🤣. I used that particular video for reference because he/she said if the narcissist does some type voodoo. Which in my mind that was the most accurate description ever used for those of us that can’t describe it any better. Now on to my question: Why is it that survivors can not avoid/decline to enter the shared fantasy to begin with? It appears as if it’s not an option or is out of the survivor’s control.

Is it impossible for a narcissistic person to discover true love for another person? Is there a cure or a cognitive understanding in this persons about their mental problem? Still, he refuses everything.From neighbors gifts, when friends are cooking, or even going to the best restaurants. There's no way to resonate with him. If you only need 5 traits to be a diagnosed NPD, are there any of the traits you must have as part of the 5? Can you have empathy and still have NPD, for instance?
@samvaknin

No. Narcissists possess only cold empathy (cognitive+reflexive). I would say that a lack of empathy must be 1 of the 5 diagnostic criteria. Today, we no longer use these criteria exclusively, btw. Search the channel for "DSM".
