I appreciate seeing Bre react with strong raw emotion at times, not because she’s in pain (I wouldn’t wish that on anyone!) but because it’s validating to know that the damage caused by narcissism is very real and relatable. Gaslighting was the norm in my family, and covert narcissistic abuse can be so “invisible” that I can easily gaslight myself into believing I’m overreacting. Thank you always for educating us, Dr. Vaknin.

Thank you Mr. Vaknin❤ From my own experience: Narcissists destroy your self-confidence down to the last crumb. It takes a long time to find yourself again. it's a long way. But then you are the powerful person you always wanted to be.

This was a phenomenal interview! Bre is all of us as she reacts and responds to the process of how the abuse takes place and unfolds. I am so grateful for the authenticity of these two! Thank you!

Anyone who went through it... Immediately finds comfort in his voice and words. He speaks them almost exactly. It's like a poet who is writing poems for you. It's unbelievable how fucking crazy it all is when it's over. You're like Clint Eastwood in the middle of a cowboy western... Saying "what the fuck?".

Hearing Professor Vaknin and Bre, I suddenly remember the pathetic smear campaign. Her younger brother didn’t buy onto it. From her mother’s reaction she too did not buy it. I suspect her divorce attorney appears to have, but her experience was limited ( and she was the ex’s second attorney, the first was disbarred). The ex’s second attourney required my help comprehending my 401k (retirement plan), and my highly experienced attorney ( with help from the lead council for the company I worked for) wrote the divorce agreement. It was educational at the time to watch how inept my ex was a navigating the divorce proceedings. Contrary to the image of herself from the shared fantasy. Fortunately, like Bre I had supportive professional friends that refused to let me feel sorry for myself.

O.M.Gosh! 😮 Holy Mackerel! Amazing... the best interview I've heard so far, answering so many of the questions I've asked and never found the answers to. Profound, unbelievably helpful, and so grateful you have both shared this! Thank you so much! Words cannot fully express the feeling and message! My mind has been blown! 🤯 🙏

To tell you the truth I married a narcissist is ironic to say but it was the toughest way for me to learn to love myself to welcome myself and see that although I did not have the narcissistic disorder I managed to see my narcissistic traits and understood that in fact both we non-narcissists and they are all fighting with the weapons that we have and all of them and we are victims in the end.

I'm married to one as well. Its a sick, sad debilitating way to live. Arguments for absolutely nothing like toddlers. All I can do is pray and love myself until my grand finale ❤

In one of your previous videos, you said that narcissism is a choice and that when a narcissist ends up in prison, their narcissism disappears. Am I right in understanding that in prison they still don’t develop empathy? That having empathy for a narcissist is not a choice? Because the lack of empathy is connected to brain changes in their childhood that cannot be undone?

Thanks Professor Vaknin, great interview! Funny and much more interesting to listen to than those where you simply steamroll the "experts". ..Your instruction to consult the Healing and Recovery playlist was very graciously managed. I wish i could see a brain scan, does not make a difference she has huge problems, and alot is from the wound she suffered when her mom gave her up for adoption

My narcissistic father arrived onto the scene full time, when I was three years old, after being laid off from a job in the oil field. He destroyed the hard work my mother had put into my first three years. She put me on a solid foundation and I was bold enough to confront my dad when I was four years old. He made sure I would never confront him again with the impression he left on me. That beating just seemed to never end. So I do not agree with the data.
