Narcissistic collapse - What happens to the narcissist?

My father had it after my mother's death I think...it was a shocker. It started with emotional outbursts, he started dating less that a month after her funeral (that's when he told me, who knows when it actually started), chasing women everywhere, wanting to find 30, 40 years younger women, at times being almost catatonic, sitting all day in his pyjamas, not washing, lying a lot, acting out in anger, acting like 12 yo boy, when not down and hysterical, he was often erratic, arrogant, overly sure in himself an his looks and abilities, hypersexual....it was insane.

Some narcissists enter therapy with a good therapist, work very hard and after many years do recover! It does happen. If your in a relationship with one, though, don't count on it.

I dont’t know if it did but I feel like this may have had happened with my aunt. She had a degenerative disease and at the same time her mask slipped and she couldn’t keep the facade going. I think it may have sped up her death Just a feeling I had about the situation dont know for sure though
