For someone who has arguably smoked more weed than the DEA have in their "evidence" vaults, his memory was surprisingly sharp. Myth busted!
@mat54735 жыл бұрын
its booze that fucks up your memory, not weed. Jury is in on that. Tommy is sharp because he doesn't drink. Not that I don't drink. I love the booze. Where am I?

@Helpful Bro You make a good point. If one uses their brain (e.g. studying a scientific topic, or artistic skill, etc.) while under the influence, it provides an alternative perspective that would otherwise not be seen. Upon returning to a sober state, the recollection can aid the broader understanding and retention of the details, perhaps 'crystallizing' the memory more acutely and efficiently. That is, the experience creates a _stronger_ imprint on the psyche when compiling the information into a 'grand scheme' later on.

I'll never forget Tommy introducing the ZBU BUS in the Alternative Tent either a few minutes before or after this interview. He mentioned something about dope, and everybody in the crowd started throwing nugs in baggies at the stage. In a few seconds there were probably fifty little bags and bundles of Saran wrap at his feet. Tommy was visibly moved. "Hey, thanks, man" he said, picking up one of the bigger bags. Dee Ray, who had boasted about hanging with Chong for years, kept screaming at him throughout his intro. Tommy peered into the smoky darkness. "Dee Ray?" he said. The crowd absolutely exploded. "Man, I can't believe you're still alive." One of THE most epic moments in that crazy, mixed-up southern Alberta underground scene in the early '90s, to be sure. Highwood forever!
