Problem is, unknown to the forces of Good, Evil is needed for the world to survive, and the world is unknowingly put into jeopardy. A hundred years later, a leftover group of villains finds out that the world will be destroyed unless the forces of Evil are released back into the world, and thus set off to save the world. Along the way, it's revealed that the Villains are, mostly, decent enough people, with even the most Evil member of the group having once had a family, which had been murdered just because they were of a species that was usually Evil. As for the Forces of Good, they aren't so nice, with more than a few not taking "No" for an answer, especially the woodland prince whenever he has the Villains lovely female druid in his clutches..... And it's revealed that the Big Good Guy (an elven wizard who was one of the Original Heroes), had committed an act that really upsets the main Bad Guy (an assassin with an uncanny ability to throw daggers and other objects accurately at great distances) to the point that he's able to use a Holy sword to kill him.

Wow, this story actually made me realize that, maybe just maybe, the villains are more right than the hero's, Solomun, a thug that was about as strong and a normal guy just a bit smarter, proved to his entire city, the hero's they praised were doing worse than the villains they hated, that's how I love to see storys play
@Arcticmaster11903 жыл бұрын
Not every time, but there’s always the aspects of doing bad things for the sake of doing the greater good. The heroes can always turn on their morals, hence the saying you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. There’s a million and one ways that twist the perspective but it’s always the perspective that matters. Olympian, even though he ended up being the villain in this story, believed (and even said so via his player) that he was the hero. While most (myself included) would agree his actions were truly barbaric, it ultimately matters to what sort of lesson one wishes to teach with the tale. After all, most of everyone in a story often have a point in what they do.

so first of all props to All Things DnD for going with most of the actual story i know this story from the original thread it was posted on the real reason why solomon snapped as far as i can remember was because olympians player basically told him to f*** o** when he asks them why they played their characters this way i love this story because it shows what happens when you take it too far against other players just because they play villains it's still a game so don't think the people behind the characters won't take their revenge for such things

It's amazing how absolutely personal these defeats were to the "heroes". Solomon destroys Protocol by outsmarting, outstealthing, and outteching him with his own computer. He destroys Adapt by forcing him to choose to adapt into a vegetable. And he destroys the charismatic, bold, brave, Olympian by shattering his image and showing him to be a weak, cowardly, and blind, moron. Poetic. Justice.

Mirror: A villain who’s life has been filled with struggle and torment. He sees the world as a dark cruel place and thus decides to reflect that in his actions. He turns to Olympian and behind his mirror like mask that hides his face he smiles as he stands over the broken body of Doctor. “You see? We are no different. Regardless of the reasons why, we reflect the world around us, cold, cruel and uncaring... So go ahead and kill me. Because in the end, that single action... will shatter your mask.”
