@cullenlatham23663 жыл бұрын
if more is planned for the overall story, create a few extra ways out. give your players an escape route, even if they choose to fight. let them die if the party is ok with it. give a roleplay option like this story. finally, come up with an ex machina or twist that would let the story continue. In the context of this story, maybe that means letting the players continue on as the creatures revived by necromancy, with some alterations to fit the new context.

Ok I know this comment has nothing to do with this video but I just wanted to say Thank You for makeing these videos. I dont think I would have ever fallen as hard as I have for Dnd whithout them. Most of My Dnd sessions wind up ending whith everyone screaming at eachother. Despite that though I have had a lot of fun playing this game. I had heard of Dnd before finding your videos but i had only ever heard that it was a evill game that was demonic and all that Bullshit excuse my language. The first time I saw one of your videos was the day before one of my friends came up to me and asked if me and my other friends would play with her. If I hadent have seen that video (i dont remember which one it was becausee I looked at a lot of them) I dont think I would have agreed to play with her. I first started playing Dnd at the tail end of 7th grade. Im going to be starting my first year of highschool in August and im still playing granet my group has changed slightly thanks to my Bff leaving the school and me befriending 2 new 6thgraders and bringing them into the group but im still having just as much fun as i was the first time I played. Now days I use your Videos to teach myself how to be a good dm so that I can create my own campaigns. So thank you, and keep doing what your doing your teaching the youger generation that Dnd is NOT what its reputation says it is.

My epic moment in dnd so I was a playing a dwarven monk named hadgbeard bloodforge. I was 700 feet down in a hole inside a very old and small wooden building and I walked into the wall broke through it and threatened to kill a goblin with a short sword I rolled intimidation with a 37 and made the goblin drop his weapon and scream even though he had a hydra on his side. Before I got to pummel him to death our gnome Warlock cast eldridge blast and smote the goblin now my attention was on the possessed statue I hoped onto the statues back and ripped out it's power source which was it's big ruby eye. The DM did not expect that. Now all that was left was the hydra and 4 goblins. Our druid which is hagbeards brother dealt with the hydra and our assassin and cleric slayed off all of the goblins and then raptor demogorgon things kept on running in our faces attacking us and then runni g away luckily we managed to kill them all. Now we had to somehow escape the hole we went looking around eventually our druid went into a building which was a spider death trap. Our druid survived it and killed all of the spiders we found a pitch black very tiny hole me and the handling rogue went inside and everybody else followed we went exploring in the cave for a bit we found a bunch of dead baby spiders ran away from a huge water elemental and 4 medium water elementals and that is all I remember all things dnd please put this as a video in the future bye

My question is how would you play a necromancer to be a good person
@cullenlatham23662 жыл бұрын
the 2 that come to mind are: 1) ignorance about the extent of their powers, therefore being above the moral quandaries they pose and free to remain themselves without the power itself corrupting them 2) necromancy as a healing art. It is still a moral debate, but the idea of necromancy as a way to save someone after it would otherwise be considered too late could keep the necromancer sane. then there is a difficult to execute third option, where all necromancy from the caster is done with the consent of the "victim" before death. Not impossible to run, but one whos boundaries could be hard to maintain, especially dependent on the story in question. Is begging for more time before an "unnatural" death consent, even when it is irrational? Is consent post-necromancy valid if raising them to ask is an option for the character, or would the magic itself compel a "yes" regardless of the victim's own will?
