For anyone who is curious about Xaldin's class and alignment, I purposely tried to play him as Lawful Neutral, and I also gave him the archetype 'strong-side boxer' from the Brawler class in Pathfinder. I figured it was an excellent fit for a worshipper of Zon-Kuthon. Anyways, I hope everyone is enjoying the story thus far, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Oh, if you're looking for another 'theme song' for Xaldin, then maybe you should check this one out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6aYeISbidyHbaM&ab_channel=NapalmRecords

This story is ridiculously interesting, I love seeing into this character perspective, he Is so blissfully insane and also neutral. He knows that the people around him do not understand his reasoning but goes with it anyway, and actually is able to do good things despite how others view his choice to worship his God. So incredibly well done! I get adrenaline and fear and intense feelings when listening to this story :D

I love how pure Xaldin is! He finds the good in all the bad that he receives gladness for pain and doesn't attack non enemies or fellow adventures nor does he force his beliefs upon them. What he does is a messy version of what a stereotypical Goody Goody Hero would do. He tries to save those that he can through pain. Whilst twisted it may be he truely does want to help save others though pain and convert their faith so they might be place in one who can better guide them. other Adventuring parties do what he does in the name of "justice' and 'peace' and 'goodness' but he really and truely means it he wants to save people through pain and has succeeded in doing so with the wizard.

@lockskelington314

@@quincyking010 That sounds a lot different, Xaldin wants to save people not a nation or an idea from evil. He "Purifies' them with his touch but also knows to refrain from such things against those who don't need it. Xaldin is Psychopathic with the intent of helping others. While an Inquisitor ( no offense to you) is usually just a force to further spread Fear and Cruelty and are more about Destroying People than actually saving them. He's about conversion not destruction.

Exactly, He is a very well written character, he truly does want to help people even if his methods are very unorthodox. He doesn't really force his ideas onto other people unless it must be done like with the wizard. Although he would be over the moon If he could convince his party mates and people around him to convert. He understands the good and bad of both sides and marvels in pain and pleasure. Although insane to say the least he does get results that no one else would be willing to get. A great character indeed.

Because it's different sitting here with some distance, than hearing someone at the table playing up this sort of character. I can imagine sitting at the table, as one of your close friends who you gamed with for a long time just sort of ... dissolves into this bare-knuckle brawler sadist, who is unfailingly polite and personable despite the subject matter. I honestly don't know if I could accept "it's just a game, bro" and look at that person the same again.

@@joaquinmarichal GMs can get a pass a great many times since it's their JOB to play the disturbing/villainous characters. Note well, there is a line, and there are numerous stories of GMs crossing it. A lot of those stories seem to fall on the side of "that guy is messed up" so... I present that as further evidence bolstering the idea I put out there. I dunno. There is a small folder I have of ideas which seem like they'd be cool, but I would NEVER play because if I brought them to the table? I'd probably get kicked out before the end of the first session. (I wrote up a wizard, once, who was really into anatomical details. Not in a dirty sense, more like the sort of person to really sit down and take sketches down of muscle and bone structure of various creatures... largely in the interests of understanding the means of translating that into creating a mechanical being. Cool idea? Yeah, right up until he insists on skinning something and winds up sitting down and taking a long... long... time staring and prodding at the dead thing so he can take detailed notes.)

I legitimately had some trouble telling what's going on in this story IRL & in-game... Nice ending, pretty sure now that this characters alignment is chaotic good or chaotic neutral.

If only he could hear of a far away dimension, of a galaxy in a grimdark future, where there is no peace but only war. There he may stumble upon the tale of the Mighty Fighting 1st Dark Angels and of their Chaplaincy and their....methods of repentance to those who have fallen.
