Many moons ago before batteries were invented our "Walkie talkies" consisted of two tin cans and a length of twine which oddly enough actually worked so long as the twine was no longer than two metres, the reception was really clear!!!!?

Am fairly new to your channel...loving it! I enjoy your natural, real way of filming, hope you get what I mean....it doesn't feel pre-planned. Do you plan to live aboard. Would imagine that life style to be very conducive with your art and writing. My stomach lurched when you said one of the cats went for a unplanned swim! Don't know if they have PFD's for wee pussy cats. Our two dogs have theirs on when we paddle our inflateable canoe. Beautiful scenery on the Cut. Look forward to more of the same. ATB....Sue

Black cats are always into everything...haha..I have cats and my biggest troublemaker now is a 3 legged tabby...she gets into everything...but a love. ..couldn't live without my 3-4 legged family..

Hope this activity, Stops as our little (Alice) Plop, has only so many lives? Tennis racket hung from the handle, to dangle just above water line. only thing could water vermin, use as well? Not such a good idea.Cheers

I remember the first time I steered a narrowboat - I assumed that the boat would simply describe an arc to go in the desired direction ... nobody forewarned me that it actually pivotted around roughly the centre point ... talk about panic, when I found it wasn't doing what [I felt] it should be ...

so with the locks......do you need someone on either side of the canal? and each boat has their own windlass? do many canal boats have bow thrusters?

+John Coffey some have now thrusters. You do need a couple of windlasses just incase one falls in the canal. You can boat by yourself- we have both done it- so you don't need extra people- but it does take longer.
