@@redmoon8217 I work 37.5 hrs pw. I do 3 12 hr shifts so mon, tue, wed and take the rest off which is wonderful. I have to make up the 1.5hr per week so every 4th week I do a Thursday 6hr shift. It feels like I am only doing a part time job. I also do Forex trading from home so when I buy my boat I want to quit my Hospital job and just make enough trading currencies in Forex. It took me 18 months to learn trading at £1 per point to now £30 per point. I can average 20-30 points per day. There are so many opportunities to work from home these days which would suit me living on a boat and moving around.

Me being an old bugger, I think it's absolutley brilliant seing all the young people coming onto the canals with such enthusiasm. Really enjoy your vlogs :) Josh also if you still get a drip after turning the greaser, look at the stuffing box stern gland, you'll see two nuts and bolts, give them a turn evenly a couple of turns, it will tighten the stuffing rope inside. Eventually when the bolts can't be turned no more it's time to get new packing for the stern gland. (KZbin it) Looking forward to next week :) Oh and Josh if your gonna wear a frock.... Loose the beard haha :)

Wind the plunger in as you push it into the grease. Used to fill grease guns this way. We had a plastic scraper to finish packing the grease guns with.

Great to meet you both at Crick it made our day, I would like to give you a tip and a correction if you don't mind, I hate refilling my stern gland always messy so tip 1/ have role paper towel not the kitchen but its normally blue, 2nd tip I have a 8" piece of wood cut off an old broom handle I use it to push the grease down the tube. much easier than the knife Hope you don't mind but a little correction on using the stern gland You are correct that after every time you go on a trip or you have run the engine and the prop has turned always turn the stern gland until it is tight, that bit is correct, what you do not do is turn it back in the belief it will stop the prop from turning it will not, so turn till tight and leave it , I leave my NB for a couple of months and it is totally dry under the gland, I think I have mentioned before that I have a small plastic bowl so any drips go in there and not in the bilge gives it extra protecting, Keep living the dream take care

Hi Josh, next time you need to fill that stern gland thing. Remove the plunger so that you are left with the tube. Push the tube into the grease. While still in the grease reattach the plunger and the vacuum should keep the grease in place.

I just bought 2 Himiway cruisers. Loving them so far. One thing to remember. If you have the bike turned on. Don't try and pedal unless you are holding the brakes! Holding the brakes disconnects the motor. If you pedal or even move the pedals with bike turned on. It will take off! So, if not trying to move. Always hold the brake on. Good luck and stay safe.

Cheeky little sturn gland tip I put a plastic quality street tub under mine and that collects the water I wet vac that out and it prevents water on the steel of the boat I even have my bulge pump placed in it for easy pump out but I can move the bulge pump to any prat of the engine bay just incase 😊

Great video Josh. To make filling the stern gland greaser even easier: unscrew the plunger section from the cylinder, leaving you just a tube. Press it in the grease (as you tried off camera) and, with no air lock, it flows very easily in to the tube and you can screw the top back on. It also makes winding the handle back to the start position very much easier, as you can spin the threaded top, rather than winding the handle. Happy cruising 🙃🙃

Hi Josh,just a thought out of the blue.If you took the top off the stern gland grease "plunger" then pushed it into the grease tin,maybe it would fill up that way,then put the top back on.The outside would still have grease on it,but easier to clean up.Great video though!!!

I had a sailing boat, and whenever the boat was going into the water, they said to squeeze the glant once or twice to "lubricate" the propellershaft to block any water
