Sorry about the reupload, had some weird audio issues. Added some fixes for those that have seen it already. So recently people are kind of on me for saying Killua can create afterimages in Hunter x Hunter in my newest video with them trying to rebuttal by saying "That's his illusion technique!" This is the fault of my editor for not knowing the context of what I was talking about. Killua and Gon are shown creating afterimages many times, without any illusion or steps required, such as when Palm stabs one of Killuas afterimages in Volume 21 page 136. Knuckles creates an afterimage in Volume 20 page 111. Gon (arguably) creates an afterimage in Volume 6 page 116.

Wasn’t Killua extremely nerfed the whole series until the chimera arc, as he had Illumi’s needle ?To the point that he was getting his ass kicked by the Chimera General to casually one shooting him. Hence why Gon seemed to close the gap extremely quick, especially in the Island arc.

I'm pretty sure that nerf only applies when he feels he might be in danger, because it wouldn't make sense otherwise. I feel Illumi would like it if Killua was as strong as possible so he would be able to take well care of their family name and also, you know, not die. Maybe he underestimated Binolt and overestimated Rammot, so his fear was misplaced. Plus, he was suffering a mental crisis after leaving Kite behind resulting in his death, which led him to fear he would end up doing that to Gon eventually. Being distracted by that definitely mattered, and when he freed himself from Illumi's needle, he gained enough self confidence to be able to stray away from that thought and fight freely.

Kid naruto is so comically overpowered when you actually think about it. He beat a tailed beast and a jounin rank character. Gon is too but hes always on the weaker side of the fights and always has to plan ahead because his nen is really slow but super strong. Its really interesting to see how both characters scale on their respective universes ninjas are far superior than hunters in general but some hunters would mop the flor with anyone under the right circumstances. 😌 Heres hoping togashi makes a comeback on 2020 to give the 10 manga chapters of the year
