Shikamaru really is a clever strategist. Not many people would think to defeat their opponent by using the wall and having the enemy slam their head against it. Even though he didn't know her skills, he endured and kept having her move back till she was close to the wall. He really is a smart and skilled opponent for anyone to deal with.

Tenten literally only fought 2 times in canon, and one of those times was against herself.. she was only able to beat herself lol

Tbh she could probably beat about half of the people in these preliminary matches. The only ones she loses to are the ones who can definitely deflect/resist her stuff (sand siblings, maybe sound arms guy) and super fast guys (Lee and Neji). People with range like sound girl and Ino miiiight be able to hit Tenten in the air if she uses her weapons summoning, but might lose before that. Naruto, Hinata and Kiba idk. Tired Sasuke definitely loses, so do Yoroi, Sakura, and stretchy man. She might ACTUALLY beat Dosu since he has no range and isn’t that fast lol, would be one hell of a feat. Temari was just too OP at this point in the series (being MUCH older than everyone - she is implied to have better taijutsu than base weighted Lee since she defended his kick and said it was a bad kick, and base weighted Lee is pretty impressive already).

Tenten fought Thunder guy that one mission alone and hold up against him until naruto and nehi come The slime guy and the gas guy to (She beat them with lee) She beat one of kakuzus heart with a weapon the could kill a normal ninja cause it used too much chakra Defeated a giant with all teams bye striking it with a million of kunais with explosives

@@evestories7358 On the manga after defeating the lightning mask, prior to the panel where she collapse from chakra exhaustion due to using the bashosen you can see two of the four kakuzu mask destroyed which shows that she probably defeated three of the four mask with that weapon. she fought guren the crystal style user with lee. She fought yugao a anbu jounin and keep up with her. She faught guy sensei while he was handicap when she was still a genin prior to the chunnin exams and defeated him. She defeated some thiefs with jidanda without having prior knowlege on how to use that weapon.

i think your confusing her with hinata couse im pretty sure hinata never won a fight on the manga and probably has as much loses and fights as tenten same as ino, heck even tenten manga to defeat two/probably three of kakuzu's lightning mask with the bashosen and this is without taking the fillers, the spinoff's or the will of fire movie into account which shows how power she actually is.

I just noticed in the fight. Shikamaru could have just launched himself backwards to knock her out, but instead he went through the showmanship of throwing a projectile to install fear haha

I think there was a reason for it... I'm speculating that the movements of a person being held by the shadow imitation technique are slower & more stunted than the caster's b/c the victim is fighting the control. So if Kin knew that she was close to the wall & that Shikamaru was trying to bang her head against it, she would have resisted, & her head may not have hit the wall w/ the same speed & force as it ultimately did. By talking to her & throwing the kunai at her, he was distracting Kin so she wouldn't realize that she was close to the wall, & as the kunai flew to her, she went along w/ the forced dodge, instead of resisting it, thereby causing her to throw her head backward w/ the same speed that Shikamaru did & knocking her out...

A shame that the Temari vs Tenten fight was filler, it didn't even happen in the manga. I wish they showed more of Tenten since she's factually the strongest leaf genin kunoichi in part 1. Well, Hinata is probably stronger than her but doesn't have the confidence for that.

At that stage i don't see Hinata winning against Tenten. After all tenten did train against Neji so she knows the hyuga power and battle style. But i agree at this stage Tenten is better than the other girl (except temari). I think at that time Tenten could even beat some guys even Shikamaru since Tenten is way stronger than that Kin.

I dont understand why a lot of people hype Tenten that much saying that is the one of the more versatile girl or with more potential in the group when she is one of the worst, all she does is throwing weapons, she doesn't even use them she just cast them like if they were granades. She is even worse when you see that she never uses justus of any nature, genjustu or even uses her weapons for taijutsu or something like that.

The writers did Tenten dirty. She is the weakest of all main cast & supporting shinobi in the series. Every other shinobi have special powers & abilities that make them exceptional. Tenten's special ability is using weapons, which basically every other character also does... She just has a lot more weapons than everyone else, which ultimately is completely useless b/c abilities > weapons... And even then, she's not shown to be especially good w/ weapons... Lee may only be able to use taijutsu, but his taijutsu ability is so exceptional that it allows him to hold his own or surpass shinobi w/ special abilities. Tenten's weapon-using skills aren't at that level...
