It also makes it more heartbreaking once you realize that just like Kawaki, Naruto had become unhinged and almost killed Boruto when he went back in the past. The saddest fact is that Boruto has experienced what Naruto doesn't even remember and hence he is justifiably sceptical of Kawaki. It is sad that no one, including majority of the audience, wants to understand what Boruto is going through in this scene. He was almost killed by his own father who doesn't remember the event, and now he has to reside with a similar guy who puts his mother and sister in danger. Despite having seen Naruto's monstrous side, Boruto still respects and sympathises with him, whereas, except Sasuke, no one, including Naruto, is really willing to see the worst-case scenario, especially from Boruto's point of view and experience.

Boruto's point is clearly proven in the follow-up scene where Kawaki breaks Hima's vase, bringing her to tears and then blatantly refusing to apologise until forced to do so by Boruto, that to for namesake.

Watching Boruto is SOOOO wild to me, I’ve never experienced a show that not only did I grow up with, but it grew up with me as well. Digimon was one which ended with Tri Dorawmon another one but is a bit different not totally the same but was latest movie for people who grow up with it. I actually love how mature this conversation was from both sides. Boruto wasn't just hating kawaki for the sake of it. He saw the guy literally punch a hole into another human being and proceed to blast him in half with no remorse and now that same person is in his home with his family, a person that he has no idea of he's a psychopath or not. Rightfully he's justified in his reasoning. However naruto is also told him that you should never judge a book by it's cover and also I love the fact that despite being his father he didn't try to force or demand boruto to change his outlook he simply gave him some insight on what kawakis situation is and let him come to his own conclusion

Why does everyone forget that Boruto knows what his father went through? Remember, he went back in time with Sasuke. He almost got killed by him and yet is willing to sympathise with him and not push him away. Any other shinobi would have tried their best to avoid Naruto after getting on his bad, unhinged side. As for Boruto's outlook, it goes on to show that Boruto's character is now stronger than that of his father as he not only forgave his father but also was justifiably sceptical of Kawaki because he knows what he can do if he goes unhinged like Naruto. However he is willing to help, just not at the cost of his family's safety. Its ironic that when Naruto talks about the similarity between him and Kawaki, he is hypocritically not taking into account the potential danger Kawaki might posses to his wife and daughter. I love it when a show manages to bring out the bad and often neglected sides of a fan-favourite character's personality. Here, we see Naruto's hypocrisy ie. not taking his son's warnings seriously and actually bringing back his own story to unfairly justify his actions which are potentially harmful for his family.

Boruto’s a good kid, in all honesty. He instinctively understands the need to trust his friends and work as a team, he’s kind and generous when he needs to be, and he’s willing to learn and change his mind. Sure, his environment was far better, but that’s in no small part due to Naruto’s work. It’s one of the greatest redeeming features of the show, the fact that Naruto’s generation grew up to be good parents, and succeeded where the generations before them failed.

@@crashpal it's funny, in the episode where Naruto fought Neji in the original Naruto (RIP Neji), Neji actually said something like that, i.e. that the Shadow Clone Jutsu was his 'specialty', only for Naruto to inform him that he actually failed the academy entry exam 3 times BECAUSE he couldn't perform the basic clone jutsu (which is supposed to be LESS powerful than the Shadow Clone Jutsu) and the Shadow Clone Jutsu was meant to be a Chunin or Jonin level Jutsu from what I remember

Man, whether you like it or not, this series is pretty darn good, Borutos character and kawakis have been getting that good treatment. I love this series, it has really redeemed it self to be a good naruto sequal. And people say that boruto ruins narutos reputation, when in reality, this show really shows appreciation to naruto. I love boruto as a character even more, He's got so much good development, and he's pretty relatable now. Keep it up writers, you are doing the best!

Naruto for the most part is the run of the mill Shonen character who isn't very bright but have op powers with a heart of gold and determination which pushes him through his inexperience. Boruto is different being a naturally gifted Ninja whose more calm and calculating than Naruto but Also shares some of his traits without having the same background.

I know some people don’t like Boruto but I do understand why the writers set him this way. We know Naruto didn’t have a family and we expected him to be a super hands on father when he finally had children. But we also know that his entire character was becoming Hokage and now that he is, it’s conflicting with his family. I love these little moments he gets with his children even if they are sometimes through clones. He really does love them and will protect them until he dies. I just hope we get more interaction between him and Hinata. I would love to see flashbacks on how their relationship was when she got pregnant. The parallel to his own parent’s pregnancy would be adorable
