Shikamaru has always been a fave of mine, but this story arc made him even more of a favourite. I cried when Asuma died and I cried when Shikamaru's father told him to let it out. Half of this arc was me crying honestly. I cried even more than with Gaara & Chiyo. It was agonising to watch him in so much pain for losing someone who was so close to him, someone who was as close as family to him. He was Asuma's treasured pupil who had to see his teacher's death right in front of him. Rest in peace Asuma, your students are doing your name proudly. This cover is fantastic, just like the original. I'm crying again because I'm just imagining Shikamaru singing this, or even all of Asuma's students....oh my heart is breaking again.

just skip the fillers,search for a fillers list and you will catch up before it ends

Take away the filler and its only like 300 episodes lol. More episodes is also a good thing, it allows for a longer more complex story and is something you can keep coming back to. When you first watch Naruto the episodes after episode 3 with Zabuza and Haku might start seeming abit slow and boring but don't stop watching it gets alot better after.

I showed this to my teacher after I listened to it, she said ok too it, I presented it and got the highest grade in the class. Since then I applied this song to my life. Its been awsome.

Ack, I replied to another comment about this so pardon me for copy and pasting! It's just so much to type ;; Hey! I didn't use the official English version's lyrics because I wanted to put my own spin on this song. This isn't something new~ I always do this in my covers so I'm a little surprised so many of you are asking why haha. I did, however, use parts of the official English version's lyrics because some sections were very successful. If you listen to Joe Inoue's English version, the wording is a little choppy and while the feelings were all expressed, I could see sections where I could make it flow better. It's actually funny because the translation of the Japanese version is much different than the official English version -- goes to show it's not easy to perfectly make a translation fit! :) For example: Joe Inoue's English Version: All that is near us We must know Could disappear any day Be careful Japanese to English Translation: You’ve gotta be extra careful with The things that are close and dearest to you My English Lyrics: All that we love and hold so dear Could disappear one day without warning Not saying that Joe Inoue's version isn't beautiful! It is! But, again I wanted to make this song my own, just like I do with every cover :)

If you have the time, Lee, you could check out aLIEz from Aldnoah.Zero. The song is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, the same man who composed the Guilty Crown, Attack on Titan, and Kill la Kill soundtracks. It's a really good song with an overall theme of war and disaster, and I think it'd be amazing if there was an English cover of it. Of course, you don't have to do it, but if you did, it would be amazing.
